Here is a photo of some beautiful Iris reticulata that I spotted flowering in one of my clients gardens this week.

I’m currently on maternity leave but yesterday managed to do some work on my allotment as part of my daily exercise. It was good to be back gardening again and I’m looking forward to seeing my customers later in the summer. Hope you are all staying safe!

This beautiful little Iris reticulata has just started flowering in my garden in a pot on our sleeper wall. This, along with the Hellebore in the background, is a sure sign that spring is on its way! Looking forward to getting back out there full time and catching up with all my lovely clients.

This is something I always do on part of my allotment, worth a go.

October checklist ✅

Improve fertility, promote good soil structure, reduce w**d growth and support wildlife by sowing a cover crop of rye, vetches or ryegrass to be dug in from next February. Alternately, cover with a black plastic sheet.

The dahlias that I posted about at the beginning of the year are still looking good in their new home. They’ve flowered really well, and should keep going til the first proper frost when I will cut them back and either lift them and store them or earth them up. Beautiful!
