Helping Hands Gardening Services

Helping Hands Gardening Services Helping out people who need a bit of support in their garden and want a reliable gardener.

My name is Jim and on or off I have been doing gardening in my spare time for over 40 years, from standing on my fathers Suffolk manual lawn mover as a five year old to assist in leveling his lawns to looking after three family gardens plus my own. Last summer I noticed that a lot of people were contacting their local facebook community pages for assistance to locate a reliable gardener or gardeni

ng service local to them as they had been let down in the past. Most of the people that were let down were people who only wanted a one off or seasonal service like a tree or shrub cut to a driveway clean. Due to this a lot of gardening companies lost interest in these customers so I offered to help people with their gardening needs by contacting customers and offering my assistance. This started as a voluntary service for many but now its time to see if I can operate as a business due to the loyalty of those customers who I helped last year are happy to continue their support for me as a business.

What a month April was and didn’t it go quick! Lots of work carried out on gardens from lawn cutting, scarifying, aeration, hedge cutting, fence painting, wall painting, gate repairs, pavement cleaning, kerb edging, re-potting, re-planting, the list goes on.
Now that May is here we can hopefully get those bedding plants without any frost and lawn treatments being applied to green up those spaces too.
Still got a fight with them Buxus plants and moth larvae unfortunately but we’ll do our best to fight those little blighters.

I’ve got limited availability spaces over May so please contact me to avoid disappointment.
Happy Gardening everybody!

Well spring is finally here but the temperatures say something else. Most if not all first grass cuts if not second and more have already been carried out with one or two now being scarified and aerated.
With so many varied jobs being undertaken at the moment, all I would say is I’m open to various garden and diy jobs which last week has already brought up. Please feel free to message or contact me other ways and let’s see how I can assist you and your garden. Happy Gardening Everyone!

With Christmas not far away, gardening is surprisingly still active. The mild weather despite being a little wet has extended the season by a few months and January is already filling up with a break scheduled now in February until mid March unless demand says otherwise.
I’d like to thank every one of my customers old and new, weather it’s a one off or regular weekly/fortnightly/monthly/six monthly or annually. Every appointment and job has been much appreciated and always will be.
I always try to reinvent and reinvest each year in better equipment and options of electrical/battery/motor options. However these come at a cost and also with government taxes etc, it’s extremely hard to keep costs down and low for which I’ve fixed for four years now and hope to continue this if I can.
Please feel free to contact me for an my future gardening work and let’s get cracking. Happy Gardening

Well autumn is definitely here but the temperatures are still high and gardening still continues. It’s been a crazy October and have in some instances had to re-arrange appointments due to sudden changes or other work related matters. However my customer have been fantastic and very understanding and also wanting jobs done before and during winter which is a big contrast to last year when it rained from September to January.
If you require any assistance with your garden big or small then just let ne know. Low gutters and facias are also being introduced to get them clean and clear for family visits over the festive period. Also if your house is up for sale and needs a cosmetic spruce up them please let me know. Happy Gardening!!!@ #

September and October appointments are getting booked up quickly so if you are an old or new customer wanting a little help with your lovely gardens, please feel free to message me for an initial visit.

July has been a challenging month with dry hot weather conditions one minute then a week of rain which to be fair the gardens needed. Having to cancel and re-arrange appointments has been difficult at times with customers wanting projects finishing in time for August and also for lots of outdoor family and friend gatherings. I’m sure August will just as fun and challenging at times but it’s just nice to see changes within customer gardens that I’ve helped contribute to improving just slightly or in a big way. Always happy to help and also if I see something not right I’ll happily try and resolve.
The most common thing I’ve noticed on my travels is street signs blocked with foliage and that annoys me so much that I’ll stop somewhere safe and clear or clean so people get to their destinations without getting lost but to also make the street more respectable wherever that may be.
August is booking up fast but if you have any gardening needs or requirements the. then please feel free to contact me. Thank you and Happy Gardening!
