We’ve just completed this beautiful conservatory transformation for the lovely Miss R in Walkington, Beverley.

Miss R got in touch after seeing our van working in her street. One of her friends had recently had her conservatory roof replaced, and after seeing the quality of our work up close, she decided to contact us directly.

What stood out was that every other company who quoted wanted to replace the entire conservatory structure — frames and all. In reality, Miss R’s original frames were in excellent condition and simply needed a deep clean, which we carried out alongside her new roof installation.

We only recommend and supply what you actually need.

The finished result is stunning. The conservatory now features elegant Rustic Brown tiles, Rosewood fascias and soffits, and sleek black gutters. We’ve added premium stainless steel external Gimbal LED downlights (both inside and out) and perfectly stepped lead flashings that seamlessly blend the new roof with the existing property.

Every roof we install is a fully engineered, timber-framed system, handmade in-house here at Yorkshire Wold Windows. Each one is built to fit your conservatory perfectly, first time.

With exceptional thermal performance of just 0.13W/m²K, it keeps the warmth in during winter and the heat out in summer — turning your conservatory into a comfortable, usable space all year round.

We are delighted to have recently completed this stunning conservatory reconfiguration for our client in Hull.

The original conservatory had reached the end of its life, featuring outdated, flimsy frames with top-opening vents and an inefficient cold-bridge box gutter, all of which have now been completely removed.

In its place, we have installed fully reinforced, high-performance insulated frames, finished with one of our signature fully engineered, timber-framed replacement conservatory roofs — designed and manufactured in-house here at YWW.

The result is a beautiful and seamless extension to the home that now flows effortlessly from the existing living space.

Externally, we incorporated discreet downlights to enhance security and allow our client to make full use of their garden for entertaining family and friends well into the evening.

As impressive as the photographs are, they still don’t fully capture the quality and impact of this transformation.

(Please note all skirting boards are cut, not fitted as the customer is having new flooring fitted throughout in the near future)

Please take a moment to review the before-and-after images from several recent projects we completed for Mr. and Mrs. C in Cherry Burton.

1. Gutter Replacement

We began by replacing the original green, leaking white gutters with sleek black ones. This update not only resolved the ongoing leakage issues but also coordinated beautifully with the front door, delivering a modern and refreshed appearance to the exterior.

2. Chimney Breast Removal

The second project involved the complete removal of a chimney. Regrettably, no photographs were captured during or after this work.

3. Bathroom Knock-Through for Additional Storage

We then carried out a structural modification in the bathroom, creating a knock-through to provide valuable, extra storage space tailored to our clients’ needs. Unfortunately, images of this improvement are not available.

4. New Staircase Installation

Finally, we installed a completely new staircase. The original was noticeably low in height (as evident in the before photos), presenting both functional and aesthetic limitations. The replacement design addresses these issues while introducing a contemporary style that enhances the overall flow and appeal of the home.

Another conservatory transformed. When we say we make a difference, we do. What was once a cold and leaking roof is now an integral part of this customers home.

All work carried out was performed internally. Meaning your original roof structure is not removed. Making it a very cost effective approach! This only took 3 days from start to finish causing very minimal disruption or mess.

This particular roof had its share of problems and was failing its owner. It was absolutely freezing, with no doors separating the conservatory from the kitchen, resulting in wasted heat and energy.

We needed to make a few structural adjustments because the roof pitch was too shallow. Our team worked to straighten and reinforce the roof effectively.

We fully insulated the roof, installed plasterboard, and finished it with a smooth skim. To top it off, we added new lighting, creating a stunning, warm retreat.

Due to the limited space behind the ceiling and roof, we crafted a small flat area to accommodate the new light fixtures while ensuring it was still packed with our high-quality insulation.

The improvement in noise reduction and heat retention was nothing short of amazing.

Attention House Buyers, Sellers and Home Owners!
If you’re considering purchasing or selling a property with bi-fold doors, please take a moment to read this important post, it could save you a significant amount of money in the long run.

Bi-fold doors are a standout feature for any property, but we've recently encountered some concerning trends.
Over the past two months, December 2025 and January 2026 we visited three different properties that were newly purchased, and upon moving in, the new owners discovered that their bi-fold doors were non functional.

Shockingly, neither of their property surveys included a proper check to confirm whether the bi-fold doors were working as intended (I know, because i asked).

If you’re in the market for a property featuring bi-fold doors, I strongly urge you to verify they are operational before making an offer. Regardless of the weather conditions, be it snow, rain, or strong winds, it doesn't matter; ensure those bi-fold doors function correctly.
Replacing bi-fold doors can cost thousands of pounds.

Here are insights from the three properties we visited:

Property 1:
Grey conservatory bi-folds required disassembly, with various components needing replacement. After our repairs, they now operate flawlessly.

Property 2:
Grey kitchen bi-folds were unfortunately beyond repair. They had broken hinges, damaged rollers, and faulty lock mechanisms, with the master door and leg completely detached from the frame and wall. All three doors had to be replaced due to issues with colour matching (as the original doors had faded) and the profile type is no longer available, so these needed replacing.
However, the cost for all three sets of French doors and sidelights was only £300 more expensive, than replacing the one set of bi-folds.
So we replaced all 3 sets of doors to match.

Property 3:
White UPVC external track bi-folds had never functioned properly.
They had simply been forced shut for the sale.
After discovering that the frame was 15mm out of plumb and the sill was 6mm out of level, we had to completely remove and reinstall them correctly.
They now open and close effortlessly, requiring just a gentle touch.

We are excited to share the impressive renovations we recently completed for Mr O and Miss P, who are first time buyers from Hull, who turned to us after receiving high recommendations.

Upon reviewing the findings of their final home survey, we prioritised addressing the most critical concerns:

1. Levitating Chimney Breast:
The first task was to address a dangerously unsupported chimney breast in the bedroom ceiling, which was only propped up by wooden chocks. The state of the workmanship was alarming. The moment we removed the first piece of timber, a significant section of the chimney breast collapsed. We swiftly installed proper support using new steelwork anchored on pad stones. After reinforcing the structure, we completed the job with fresh brickwork and plastering.

2. Garden Wall:
Next, we tackled a large section of their eight-foot garden wall, which was at risk of collapse due to a tree growing through it, causing a four inch lean. We ensured all bricks were reused, maintaining the unique size of the original construction.

3. Damp Issues:
We also addressed damp problems in the front bay and throughout the rear of the property. Our team drilled and injected the affected areas to ensure a thorough solution.

4. Roof Lead Work:
Lastly, the lead work on the rear extension roof was found to be completely deteriorated and lacked proper upstand. We removed the old lead and replaced it with high quality code 4 heavy gauge lead, finished with an oil treatment for durability.

By focusing on these critical structural elements, we worked diligently to ensure Mr O and Miss P have a safe and sound home.
