Replacement Steel Windows, incorporating Acoustic Glass
Decision was made to retain the original timber windows and adapt them to receive new double glazed steel windows, splice new timber into the frames that had rotted and supply and fit new external window linings. Acoustic glass was used because the railway had opened an old line right next to the house.

This house is situated close to a bypass and the original windows were made of softwood with narrow double glazed units. To prevent the sound from the bypass disturbing them in the house the customer had secondary double glazing installed which really took away from the elegance of the wooden windows.

We designed windows that would allow for the secondary glazing to be removed and instead installed soundproof thermally efficient double glazed units which afforded more light in the house and allowed the customer to see the beautifully crafted hardwood windows with period style handles.

This property stands in a conservation area where only wooden windows may be installed. We manufactured these windows from hardwood with 3 coats of microporous factory spray finished paints, shoot bolt locking mechanisms with night vent facility and glazed with toughened safety glass with highly thermally efficient double glazed units.

We previously built a conservatory for this customer with Gothic Tracery Arches. They so loved them that they asked us to replace their original patio Georgian glazing Bar doors with the same design as the conservatory. The two pictures show the before and after with stunning results. These doors are made with HW glazed with 24 mm toughened glass with high security Shoot bolt locking mechanisms.

Delighted with this warm roof conversion fitted to one of our conservatories installed over 20 years ago!

All old glass removed. Insulated a part built warm roof and upgraded the remaining glass to a more thermally efficient double glazed unit with a U value of 1.1 . Supplied and installed an electrically operated roof velux and replaced existing glazing bead with rot proof Q bead.

A replacement conservatory for Christmas!

Superb transformation from existing dark wood conservatory to a lighter, brighter, cosy conservatory finished in Farrow and Ball 'Cooking Apple Green' microporous paint. Hardwood conservatory glazed with 24mm clear toughened safety glass in sealed units with a U-value of 1.1. A self-cleaning Ambi Aqua roof provides 82% solar heat reflection, 30% light transmission and U-value of 1.1

Our customer decided to replace their existing conservatory with a, bespoke, Orangery, designed and manufactured in Sapele hardwood with a roof lantern to include two electric opening roof vents. 24mm clear solar reflective, double glazed, sealed units (U-value 1.1) to windows and french doors together with a maintenance free roof system. Excellent customer choice for the roof - Ambi-blue, self-cleaning, toughened safety glass allowing 60% solar heat reflection, 47% light transmission and a U-value of 1.2. Fully factory spray paint finish using microporous paint. An absolute delight!
