Recently added lead to this chimney in Flitton Bedfordshire.
Back in the day they used to smother cement around the sides and front of chimneys in the attempt to keep them watertight this is called a cement fillet.
Over time cement becomes porous letting in moisture.
We've added code 4 lead aprons to both front and back with step flashing up the sides.

This should now last 70+ years.

Complete restoration of this chimney in Luton.
We've completely ground out the old lime mortar and exchanged for new.
When repointing its essential to do the same mix as to what your taking out. Lime breaths to allow moisture to evaporate when cement doesn't so putting cement in an originally Lime mortar property will only blow and damage the bricks.
