One of our long-standing valued customers called us, sharing their concern about the increased bird activity on their chimney. We responded promptly and inspected the flue with a camera for any signs of nesting and swept the chimney. Fortunately, there were no nests, so we installed a high-quality UK-made Midtec chimney cowl. This seemed to upset a few jackdaws, as they could no longer sit in their favourite spot.

It's been such a lovely day from start to finish, working with many wonderful customers, inspecting unused chimneys, removing vegetation from a chimney stack, rescuing a jackdaw chick from an unused gas fire, fitting cowls, and even enjoying VIP-style parking with this cute sign on the very last job this evening. 🎩 What's not to like?

We don't usually work on weekends, but sometimes there are exceptions. 1. When working for a great customer 2. When the weather is favourable, this Saturday, both conditions were met, so we carried out a pre-installation sweep and inspection, including removing an old, unused gas liner for one of our esteemed customers in preparation for an upcoming solid-fuel stove installation. We’re holding onto our hats, because another week just pulled a Usain Bolt on us! To cap off this glorious Friday – and we mean "cap" literally – we bestowed upon an otherwise forgotten chimney flue the Rolls Royce of chimney caps. This was no ordinary cap a top notch one from C**t Cowls, mind you. This particular flue, bless its cotton socks, had been housing a rather dodgy stove until this week. After a thorough archaeological dig through decades of ancient soot and politely evicting the aforementioned fire-hazard-on-legs, we installed this magnificent cap to tell water ingress, heat escape , and any potential future feathered squatters, "Nope!" It's all about keeping customers home safe, dry, and bird-free, you see.

One of our valued long-standing customers reported water ingress in their chimney after it was recently repointed and flaunced with lime mortar. Unfortunately, they also installed the wrong type of terminal for the unused flue. We responded quickly, inspected the issue, and identified the cause. Then, we capped off the unused flue with a high-quality vented chimney cap from C**t Cowls to prevent water ingress, deter birds, and stop black mould growth. All completed smoothly within an hour, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
