Don't forget to prune your hydrangeas (if you haven't already!)..

An annual tidy up is all it takes to keep them neat and compact rather than straggly and stretched

One of our lovely clients has a long border full of creamy white hydrangeas - they've given her family a showy display through summer, autumn and winter - right up until their recent chop!

Now they're crisp, fresh & ready for a new flush of foliage 💚

TOP TIP: The dried flower heads are perfect for a low-maintenance flower arrangement & will last for months.. just remember to collect them on a dry day!

The common snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) - showing in abundance at this time of year; usually seen growing in clumps under trees and along countryside verges. Dainty but tough they are capable of sitting through sleet and snow and have the ability to lift the spirits on the dullest of winter days

If you're lucky enough to grow snowdrops at home, have a look at them: - are they where you'd like them? Are they bunched too tightly together? Well; as snowdrops are best planted 'in the green' (straight after flowering when they still have leaves) now's the perfect time to have a think about splitting them and planting the smaller clumps throughout your borders and possibly in pots

Whether you know them as snowdrops, 'Snow-piercers', or even the 'Fair Maids of February', they make a lovely addition to borders lacking winter interest, before giving way to the incoming flush of other spring growth

Who doesn't love a 'Before & After'?! Here's a few of ours..

Perfect edging: This colourful bed was full of sycamore seedlings and the path had seen better days.. Now look at that sharp curve 👀

Spring tidy up: Field mustard & corn salad were taking over this sloping border.. Now there's space for a splash of colour

Uncovering the border: This contorted hazel was smothering the plants below it. By raising the crown & thinning out the weaker stems, there's more light and airflow for the plants underneath to thrive
