Popping in some new plants today — including these beautiful Trachelospermum jasminoides — as part of Phase 1 in bringing year-round colour into this garden.

Already a wonderfully established space, the brief here was to build on what’s there: extending interest through the seasons, refreshing spent plants with something new, and making better use of the arch.

Phase 1 has seen 40 plants go in, with another 70 or so to follow in Phase 2.

Thanks to our supplier for such beautiful plants.

Okay... that space we mentioned?

This June, Wet Your Plants will be showcasing at one of the UK’s biggest horticultural events - !

“Stories of Memories” is inspired by wartime resilience, everyday gardening and memory triggers. Exploring how gardens can support memory, comfort and everyday life — shaped by real conversations with those living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and their families.

We’re currently welcoming partners and collaborators to help bring this garden to life. If you’d like to be involved, we’d love to hear from you.

A first glimpse at a 2026 garden in Birmingham

Our client has an exceptional Acer collection, which has shaped the direction of the design - drawing on Japanese influences to create a space that feels calm, balanced and quietly immersive.

Parts of the garden are currently too hot to comfortably sit in during the height of summer, so a key driver has been introducing dappled shade and more considered seating areas, allowing the space to be used throughout the day.

Working through CAD allows us to refine structure, movement and planting before anything is built, ensuring the garden settles naturally around those key specimens rather than competing with them.

A more tranquil, usable approach to a city garden.

Looking forward to bringing this one to life.

Some lovely arrived on the estate today!
Looking forward to some trials with these two - the Lakeland Gold will be used on a section of one of the heavier annual beds this week before they get planted out. Tomato wool compost will be used with two of the varieties of toms we are growing this year, and a few of our chillis, as a side by side comparison to our usual peat-free compost. No feeding will certainly feel a bit odd!
