Exciting news at DHA 🤩

DHA Architects were appointed to take on an extant planning approval for 3 commercial units as part of a larger residential village extension scheme.

The practice has worked closely with the developer and prospective tenants to amend the approved scheme to cater for adapting commercial requirements, culminating in a revised planning approval.

In addition, the scheme slots into a wider design strategy for the village extension and the progressing design had to maintain the aesthetic concept of the original consent whilst providing suitable accommodation for a variety of different tenant types.

The scheme has recently been completed and is taking on tenants.

The proposed residential development in Bath by DHA Architects has been built with success. The traditional Bathonian style has been maintained using the honey-coloured Bath stone but the look of these eight new properties is fresh and contemporary.

DHA Architects obtained planning and building regulations consent for a private client to extend and alter to the existing house within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Ampney Crucis).

Assistance with tendering and construction was also provided with the works involving the replacement of an existing conservatory with a new orangery, opening up the interior of the ground floor to create a large flowing reception space and the refurbishment of the rest of the existing house

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Cooksey, who joined us in 2011 and qualified as a registered member of the RIBA in 2017, as a new Associate of the Practice. Phil achieved a 1st Honours degree at De Montford University and has continued his association with them as an external part-time visiting lecturer.

St John Fisher and St Thomas More Church has been extended with the addition of architecturally distinct ‘pods’ of
accommodation either side of the existing church. Clad in cut Cotswold stone reference is made to traditional local design whilst making a clean, modern statement. Curved aluminum roofs ‘floating’ above give an ecclesiastical identity to the
church. The new structures are separated from the existing church in elevation by a glass block link, helping to maintain the simplicity and purity of the original church.
