Our client was struggling to maintain all the large borders in their mature garden, and the wooden fence posts were totally rotten at ground height. We cleared and levelled the beds and knitted new turf into the existing lawn. The concrete godfathers sured up the old fence and give a good base to replace it at a later date. We also extended the rear paving area to make the space big enough for a family dining table.
Another happy client all set to enjoy the spring sunshine β˜€

What an amazing transformation! Check out the current project we have been working on. The clients came to us with a pretty blank canvas asking for more entertaining space and better use of the sunny spots in the garden. Pretty much the only things that we have kept are the beautiful beach hedges and the stunning apple arch separating the garden in two. We have added a large composite deck at the back to catch the last of the evening sun. Wrapped in bright and sensual perennial beds. We leveled the lawns and edged them in beautiful hand-cut sandstone setts, the same material as the feature paths, and the silvers and graphite colours continue throughout the garden to create a sense of unity. We extended and replanted all the beds and added spotlights and electrical outlets throughout. Down at the house, we have tripled the area of the patio and repaved it in beautiful hardwearing Spanish porcelain tiles. I'm really looking forward to handing this amazing entertaining space and see it come alive!

This spring we built this fully composite deck which partially breached the ground to eradicate the natural slope using the fabulous Millboard products. The soft grey colour replicates natural aged timber. We removed a couple of large trees and shrubs to maximise the space and took down all the ivy from the back wall that was starting to force its way under the fascias. Moving the seating area has given the clients a great sized area for dining and entertaining in the late evening sun β˜€οΈAnd did I mention it has a bar?!! The next phase will be to cover the old fences and open up the stairs to give better access and a more integrated feel.

We have been moving around a lot of the plants in the testbeds at my old family home and it's brilliant to have the opportunity to see how things have evolved. This is one of my absolute favourite gardens to work on and a place where I learned an awful lot.
Earlier in the year we took out and split the bulky grasses and herbaceous perennials. It has really given them a new lease of life and helped them to thrive. We also moved a couple of the shaped trees to create larger planting pockets and define the edges of the beds. I have tried to have very little involvement with the planting allowing it to naturalise and self-seed and a happy accident of turning the soil was seeing the wild species pop up and thrive especially the bright red poppies
