Morning, last week I ripped out a Lamborghini. Not the car, obviously. This was a boiler made by Ferrolli. It was a very cheap boiler £399. One that I have seen and never fitted. This one lasted 13 years although it was a bit like triggers broom!
Anyway they now have a Baxi 430. This comes with a 5 year warranty. Enjoy your day.

SMELTING!
New hobby alert. Thought it would be fun to melt some copper into ingots. Gets up to 950 degrees c,
was a bit scary first time. Sounded like jet engine. Don’t really know why I am doing it. Do I need a reason? Hope your Sunday was a good one.

Morning, sunny it is too. Vented direct cylinder not working. Two options, replace both immersions if possible or change the lot for an unvented direct cylinder.
Customer chose the cheaper option.
Fortunately the swap over was fine.
Now has hot water once more.

Ok was asked to perform a chemical flush of the central heating. On draining the water I decided it didn’t need a flush. Instead I added a filter refilled and added inhibitor.
On closer inspection of the boiler the electrodes were replaced, main heat ex cleaned and new burner seal.
Quick analyser check all good.
Onto the next one.

Just to stress the importance of having your boiler serviced.
Went out to an ideal vogue today. Burner seal had gone. Looks like it’s been leaking combustion for a while. Not good when a boiler is upstairs.
Anyway all fixed and safe once more.
