Not every day on the job comes with views like this 🌤️

Today one of the teams are out carrying out a specialist spraying programme along a remote access road through a shooting range — using a quad and boom sprayer to safely and efficiently manage vegetation across the route.

Jobs like these take careful planning, the right equipment, and experienced operators, especially where access, safety and environmental considerations all come together.

A really meaningful project completed for a client in Barnard Castle.

This space was previously an old smoking shelter — unused, tired, and not serving its purpose anymore. The brief was to transform it into a calm, respectful memorial garden.

Our team installed a pre-grown mature hedge to create immediate structure, privacy, and a sense of enclosure. We then delivered a planting scheme designed to be low maintenance but thoughtful — soft textures, seasonal interest, and a layout that encourages quiet reflection.

It’s a great example of how the right landscaping can completely change how a space feels and is used.

Another job completed up in Newcastle for one of our clients 👏

Our team carried out swale preparation works as part of the site’s drainage infrastructure — helping manage surface water and support long-term ground stability across the development.

Works included:
• Cultivating the swale area using an 8-tonne excavator with power rake, working from the top of the embankment
• Stone picking to remove larger material and improve soil quality
• Careful grading to achieve the required levels and ensure effective water flow
• Supplying and sowing swale grass seed mix to establish vegetation and support drainage performance

A well-prepared swale is key to how these sites function over time — slowing water down, improving infiltration, and reducing pressure on drainage systems.

This week we’ve made another step forward in strengthening our operations.

We’ve taken delivery of two Toro Z-Master 4000HDX machines from Lloyds, alongside a Ferris FW45 pedestrian mower supplied by Carrs Billington.

Across our grounds maintenance contracts in the North East, we continue to see growth in both scale and expectations. To support the continued growth of our operations, we’re focused on investing in the right equipment to back our teams on the ground.

These additions will allow us to:
• Increase efficiency across larger and more complex sites
• Improve consistency and quality of finish
• Provide the right tools for both ride-on and pedestrian work
• Support the continued expansion of our operations

For us, it’s about building a reliable, well-equipped operation that delivers day in, day out for all of our clients.

We’ve looked after this memorial garden for a number of years now, and every year it stops us in our tracks all over again.

There’s something about this time of year — when the trees come into blossom — that really brings the whole space to life. It’s a reminder that places like this aren’t just green spaces, they’re somewhere people come to reflect, remember, and pause.

That’s why our teams treat areas like this with the care they deserve. There’s a real sense of pride in maintaining them to a high standard, knowing what they mean to the people who visit.

A great project to be part of at Bowburn Primary School in Durham — and a brilliant job completed by our team 👏🏻

This scheme involved the installation of a large portable classroom onto an existing sloped car park area, which presented some interesting challenges from the outset. To accommodate the levels, we designed and constructed a raised timber decking system to provide safe play areas and practical access throughout.

Working alongside Pinkney Construction, who carried out the installation of service trenches for mains water, drainage, foul water, mains electric and IT infrastructure, the project came together seamlessly. Their scope also included a new brickwork access ramp with handrails, road crossing, and concrete bollards to improve safety and accessibility across the site.

Our team delivered the full design, construction, and commercial specification decking, including a feature deck finished with artificial grass and integrated steps for access.

A solid example of collaboration, problem-solving, and delivering a functional space for the school community.

Another transformation completed 🌱🍻

Our team recently attended site at a local pub to revitalise their beer garden, creating a fresh, welcoming outdoor space ready for customers to enjoy.

Works included full ground preparation and cultivation, removal of spoil, and installation of new topsoil before laying 200m² of quality turf. We also installed timber gravel boards to define and protect the borders, ensuring a clean and durable finish.

The project required careful coordination and the use of specialist equipment including digger, dumper, and rotavator, alongside ground protection boards to maintain safe access throughout.

With the turf now down, regular watering will help it establish strong roots — just in time for beer garden weather 🌿🍺

Great work by the team on delivering another high-standard finish 👏
