Before you choose a fire and security installer, ask one question:

Who verifies them?

At Full Circuit Fire & Security, the answer is independent and on the record.

SSAIB Certified (UKAS-accredited)
The Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board is a UK certification body that audits installers of intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire detection against British and European Standards. UKAS accreditation means SSAIB itself is approved by the UK’s only government-recognised national accreditation body and most commercial insurers require SSAIB certification for valid cover.

BAFE Fire Safety Register - ID: 301612
BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) is the independent UK register of quality fire safety service providers, third-party certified against specific industry schemes such as fire detection and alarm system design, installation and maintenance. For any Responsible Person, BAFE registration is the cleanest documented evidence of competence under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

CHAS Accredited Contractor
CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is one of the UK’s leading health and safety pre-qualification schemes, founded by local authorities and recognised across the SSIP framework. Accreditation saves your procurement team from running their own H&S vetting before engaging us the assessment is already done, to a standard your auditors recognise.

Three independent assessments. One contractor accountable to all of them.

If you’re choosing a fire and security partner, ask to see the registration numbers. We’ll always show you ours.

↓ Admissions slow
↓ Funding tightens
↓ Reputation takes years to rebuild

When did your surgery last sign off its fire risk assessment?

If the answer is "more than 12 months ago"- your CQC rating is exposed.

We've seen North West practices downgraded over assessments just 18 months out of date.

The knock-on is brutal:
↓ Rating drops
↓ Patient list growth stalls
↓ Reputation takes years to rebuild

CQC inspections now include explicit fire safety checks. Most Practice Managers we speak to don't know the full list.

So we built one.

5 checks every GP surgery should run before the next inspection ↓

25% of all UK workplace fires happened in one place last year.
Industrial premises.

More than retail. More than offices. More than food and drink.
The biggest cause? Electrical distribution faults. The exact thing a modern fire alarm catches in the first 90 seconds.

If you run a warehouse, factory, or industrial unit, four things are quietly going wrong on most sites:
Mezzanine blind spots. Detectors installed at the original ceiling height, not at mezzanine level. Fires up there go undetected for critical minutes.
High-bay storage dead zones. Smoke pools below detector range. Most systems miss it entirely.
Cold storage areas. Standard detectors fail below 0°C. We see freezer alarms that haven't worked in years.
Systems older than 10 years. No fault diagnosis, no zone identification, no chance against a modern incident.
Insurers are now actively checking system age and coverage documentation. A claim refused because the fire alarm was outdated will cost more than the system itself.
Free fire safety surveys for industrial premises across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Yorkshire, and the M62 corridor.

The fire alarm in your care home was probably installed before April 2025.

Which means it might no longer meet the current standard.

BS 5839-1 was updated last year. The changes affect every care home in the UK, with stricter requirements for sleeping risk premises. Most providers never told their clients.

If your last fire risk assessment was more than 12 months ago, or you're not sure what BS 5839 category your system is, this is for you.

The Care Home Fire Safety Guide 2026 everything Registered Managers need to know:

→ The BS 5839-1:2025 changes (and what they mean for you)
→ What CQC inspectors check during a visit
→ The real legal and financial risks of non-compliance
→ The most common gaps we find on site
→ What a fully compliant care home looks like in 2026

Swipe through. Save it. Share it with the responsible person on your team.

And if you'd like a free compliance check, comment FIRE below or DM we'll be in touch.

Most fire and security companies tell you they cover the North West.

We live here.

Full Circuit has been protecting businesses across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Yorkshire since 1981. That's 43 years on the same patch.

Our engineers don't drive in from Birmingham. They live in Blackburn, Burnley, Bolton, Preston and Manchester. They know the buildings, the streets, the local councils, and the businesses that have trusted us for decades.

That's the difference between a national contractor and a local partner.

When something goes wrong at 2am, you don't want a call centre 200 miles away. You want someone who can be on site before breakfast.

Where's your business based? Drop your town in the comments and we'll tell you the closest engineer to you.

The updated BS 5839-1:2025 standard has changed the rules for sleeping risk premises. If you manage a care home in England, here's what you need to do now.

6,665 workplace fires in one year.
Most of those businesses thought they were protected. They weren't.
The latest UK fire statistics break down like this:

→ 6,665 workplace fires recorded in 2024/25 → Industrial premises led at nearly 25% → Food & drink followed at 19% → Retail at 18%
The number one identifiable cause?
Electrical distribution faults responsible for 18% of all incidents.
Here's the part that keeps me up at night:
The majority of these businesses had fire alarms. They had systems in place. They thought they'd ticked the box.
But having a fire alarm is not the same as being protected.
The difference is: → The right system designed for your specific premises → Installed by an accredited provider (SSAIB or NSI certified) → Professionally serviced every six months → Annually inspected and certified
Without all four, you're not protected. You're just hoping.
Full Circuit Fire & Security has been getting this right for businesses across the North West for over 40 years.

What industry are you in? Drop it in the comments and I'll tell you the single biggest fire risk in your sector.

Care home operators, are you aware of this change?
The updated BS 5839-1:2025 standard is here.
And it could mean your fire alarm system is no longer compliant.
This isn't a minor tweak. The revised standard introduces significant changes to fire detection and alarm systems in buildings, and care homes are directly affected.
If your system was designed to the previous edition, now is the time to get it reviewed.
Non-compliance isn't just a paperwork issue. It's a safety risk for some of the most vulnerable people in your care.
At Full Circuit Fire & Security, we're already working with care providers across the region to assess and upgrade systems in line with the new standard.
SSAIB Certified BAFE Registered (ID: 301612) Specialists in fire alarm design, installation and maintenance for care environments
Don't wait for an audit to find out you've fallen behind.
