Unperturbed by the poor weather last week we continued to administer some much-needed TLC to gardens, none more so than the example below. “It’ a bit long,” said the customer, but it was soon whipped into shape.

Our work was not restricted to cutting grass but also general tidy ups, power washing and external boundary work.

W**d better get out of here - and that is what precisely happened.

We were certainly fortunate with the weather over the past few days which enabled us to catch up on some of the jobs that were postponed due to the recent wet weather. The w**ds and grass certainly took advantage of rain, but they were soon put in their place. On to the next garden tidy up!

Field mice, long grass and a prickly green house.

So another busy few days performing garden tidy ups. It's been interesting to see how many lawns have sprung to life given the recent mixture of rain and sun over the past two weeks; the perfect hide out for field mice for which we encountered a few. Happy to report all remain unharmed.

Brambles seem to grown anywhere, as the green house below will testify. I am glad to say they are now removed thereby freeing up space for less intrusive plant. Bring on the , and

If evidence was ever required that a mixture of sun and rain makes the garden grow then look no further. However, we like a challenge and even though this garden tidy up meant travelling outside our local area the result so far is well worth it. We will continue the transformation eventually introducing a variety of shrubs and raised bedding areas.

"You have quite a job on your hands" said the passerby when they noticed a rusting set of cast iron railings was being prepared for painting. A conversation ensued during which the person asked "what do you do?" and upon hearing the response the person said "but what you are doing isn't gardening", which was an interesting comment and suggests gardening is simply often associated with pruning trees, cutting lawns, w**ding borders and planting. In the wider context we see gardening as improving the outdoor space within the boundaries of a property, be this painting a fence, or as one of our recent jobs entailed, dismantling a garden shed. , , , , , , ' ,
