Hello Everyone!

Have you ever given chimney pots much thought? Other than occasional maintenance they need, I’d wager chimney pots aren’t of daily concern. Well, when we found this chimney pot from facebook marketplace, abandoned by time, we saw an opportunity. Since 1857 Plas Glyn-Y-Weddw has stood, and due to its progressing age, it has been under some repair. And so this lonely, forgotten chimney pot has now been raised to stand tall amongst its peers, to gaze across Llanbedrog beach with purpose yet again. So whenever you see smoke billow from a chimney top, or go to set a fire, I’d like you to think of this chimney pot, cast from its previous home, only to be found anew in a circle of its peers.

Hello!

We’ve just finished our most recent project, Lamb's Cottage, which includes a cladded wine cellar, staircase, and exterior, as well stonework adorning an outdoor shower, one of our unique features to date. Llechwedd Slate was used for this build for its distinct colour and texture.

Hello!

We’ve been involved in the ongoing restoration of Cwm Farm, a Grade II listed historic building built in the 16th century. Working with historic buildings as these, we’ve made sure to preserve the traditional methods of restoration to maintain the building’s roots. In the re-pointing process, we’ve used hot lime, as was used in the original build. This will increase its durability and allow the fabric of the building to breathe. Not only is this building historic in its own right, but for us, it has given us three generations of work, with Taid, Fathers and sons all helping preserve this magnificent piece of history.

Recently, our masons finished one of our most creatively ambitious projects to date. With its unique features, such as our tiered fireplace,slate table, monolithic gate posts and trinity of standing stones, as well as our floating stairways and mastercraft walling, this project can only be described as a work of art. We are all very proud of the end result, and thanks to the amazing photography work of Peter Mukherjee, we can share its beauty with you.

In other news, maentwrog masonry are expanding our gallery of work to instagram. Here, We’ll be posting a menagerie of work, new and old, works in progress and insights into the behind the scenes work that goes into all of our projects.
