2025 has been an interesting year at Mr. H Property Maintenance. Not least the last 6 months where Mr. H has had to quite literally limp along due to the ongoing knee injury.

Thankfully Mrs. H is up to the task on not just the decorating front and stepped up to help ensure we managed to keep most clientele happy. There are a few we unfortunately haven’t been able to take on this year and apologise for the disappointment. However we anticipate that the next year will bring better prospects, although the knee issue is still going to play a role for several more months and prevent Mr. H tackling heavier tasks.

Mr & Mrs. H would once again like to thank all our long standing and new clients for their continued loyalty, we couldn’t do it without out your support - thank you.

We look forward to seeing you all in the coming year, but for now, we are closing the offices and taking our annual Festive period break from work.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous 2026.

Thought it’s about time I showed that MrH Property Maintenance is still keeping busy as ever. So here’s a photo of this weeks fencing work, complete with the happy client trying out new pedestrian gate. All materials supplied by Forest Products in Cinderford.

Well that’s a first, after over ten years, through a miscommunication on both sides my ad in the Little Blue Book “Local Pages” directory didn’t appear in the 2024 edition - though I was still on their online listings. I had not realised until a client stopped me in town and said she couldn’t find my number in the blue book. So this is just a small note to everyone to say that I am still around and continuing the work. Thanks for your continued loyal custom.

And the 2025 local pages entry has already been ordered.

Had a fun morning, checking for and rectifying leaks on the solar heat exchangers for in Lydney this morning. What a beautiful place, can’t wait for it to open to swim club members next week. It’s a real credit to the hard work of the team of the volunteers that run and maintain the pool and facilities in such great condition each year. There’s still a few memberships available, so be quick!

I have never even considered this before please take a moment to read you never know

I have had many CPR classes over the past few years but was never told this…..
Have you ever thought about it ❤️
When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then ?
A rarely good post that can't be shared often enough:

1. Take a 2 minute break and read this:
Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.

2. You are really tired and frustrated.
All of a sudden your chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home.

3.Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it..

4. Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.

5. How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.

6. But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.

7. Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment

8. Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.

9. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue.
Instead of posting jokes, you're helping save lives by spreading this message.

MrsH and her friends have been a bit “crafty“ this week… ie making Christmas Wreaths. So I thought I’d do my part and publicise their wares…

The wreaths are from £25 each, with 50% of the proceeds going to charity and can be seen/collected from our place in Butlers Mead, Blakeney over the weekend (pm me before calling round to ensure we are not out walking the dog).

Early part of next week the remainder will be going up to “Samm’s Potting Shed” Lydney Road in Yorkley (next to the school) for open sale. Be quick to avoid disappointment!! Here’s a few examples…

It’s been a very busy week, but the end result was worth it. 180 square meters of gravel drive to renovate i.e. digger out the old and dirty, w**d laden, Cotswold gravel and replace it with nice clean Golden Flint, laid on gravel grids with water permeable w**d membrane underneath. Just needs the weekends forecast rains to was off the light dust and bring out those deeper golds. I’ll add some pictures next week when I’m back there for another job.

Happy New Year Everyone.

May 2023 bring, happiness, good health and peace and goodwill to all.
