Because they are not undertaking the work for business purposes, legal responsibility for Building Regulations compliance automatically transfers to the appointed Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.

There is an onus on everyone to ensure they have the experience and qualifications to do the job correctly.

⭐️ Project Progress ⭐️

We obtained Planning Approval in May 2023 and then retained for Principal Designer Services in January 2025, with construction works starting on site in April last year.

We revisited the site last week and were delighted to see these 7 new family homes, in Somerset, approaching completion, and the developer providing a high finish and spec internally.

⭐️ Planning Approval Secured – Two-Storey Extension ⭐️

We’re pleased to share that Dorset Council approved this planning application just 6 weeks after registration.
This project involves a thoughtfully designed two-storey extension to a semi-detached cottage in Stourpaine. The scheme will create a spacious master bedroom complete with a first-floor en-suite and dressing room, along with a new ground-floor living room. Additional improvements include a redesigned main entrance, a modern utility and WC area, and internal alterations that will transform this charming rural cottage into a contemporary family home, whilst retaining the character & charm.

⭐️ Project Progress ⭐️

This beautiful Grade II Listed thatched cobb home suffered a significant collapse to one end, following a severe storm last year.

Appointed in the summer, we supported our client through the planning and building control processes, securing the necessary permissions to carry out the repair and reinstatement works.

We revisited the site this week and were delighted to see the project progressing well — despite the persistent rain and renewed flooding in the village. It’s fantastic to see such care and craftsmanship on display, with exceptional detailing by the thatchers, skilled stone masons, and lime plastering specialists.

⭐️ Planning Approval - New Childrens Nursery⭐️

Working with DHPC planning consultants, who submitted the planning application, we are delighted that the local authority reached a positive decision and granted planning approval, for the change of use from residential to Childrens nursery. The site in Poole, is an existing detached house, with a new bungalow in the rear, and the proposals are to convert both areas into a nursery for the successful Muddy Boots Nursery Group.
