🎓 Shop Update 🎓

Fair Fantoosh and Mary's Alterations won't be open first thing tomorrow morning, as Mary and I will be attending our Son/ grandson's graduation.

We're hoping to be in the shop from around midday onwards, but I'll confirm our opening time once we are back.

Thank you for your understanding as we celebrate this very special milestone with him. 🎓💙

Not only am I Fair/Gala Day busy, I'm making lampshades too! 🐆✨

These leopard print beauties, along with another two matching shades, are making their way to their new home today.

Last week I was asked to create six lampshades for a beautiful Airbnb up in the Highlands, and this is the final batch ready to go.

I love how they manage to be both bold and elegant at the same time. They're definitely statement pieces, but still feel classic enough to work in all sorts of spaces.

🧵✨ Gin, giggles, and gorgeous lamps...

Tonight's Gin Lamp Workshop was a colourful reminder that creativity doesn't need to be complicated. A bottle, a lampshade, a beautiful fabric choice, and a couple of hours spent making something completely unique. 💡

From the bold botanical blues of the Bombay Sapphire lamp to the striking pinks and purples paired with Hendrick's Lunar Gin, every lamp had its own personality. No two the same, and that's exactly how I like it.

What made tonight even more special was welcoming back two ladies who have joined me for several workshops. It means so much when people choose to come back again and again, spending their evenings creating, chatting, laughing, and trying something new.

The lamps were beautiful, but the catch-ups and conversations were just as lovely. Thank you both for your continued support. It is genuinely appreciated, and I loved spending the evening with you both. 💕

Just a wee reminder that I'll be closing the shop shortly to attend a very special dress showing. ✨👑

I will be back later, and the shop will remain open until all of today's mannequins have been returned and any mannequins needed for tomorrow's dress showing have been collected.

As things may be a little bit up in the air this afternoon, if you're planning to come down to the shop, please send me a wee message first to check if I'm open.

Today is Kai's 5th Diaversary 💙

Many of you who have visited the shop over the years will have heard the unmistakable sound of a Dexcom alarm going off in the background. It's become part of daily life for us.

Today marks five years since Kai was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

Five years of carb counting, blood sugar checks, sensor changes, alarms in the middle of the night, treating highs, treating lows, and always thinking one step ahead.

When Kai was diagnosed, we had never heard of the 4 Ts:
🚽 Toilet
💧 Thirsty
😴 Tired
⚖️ Thinner

Knowing these signs can save lives.

Type 1 Diabetes doesn't take a day off, but neither does Kai. Whether it's school, training, fights, friends or just being a teenager, he gets on with life with a strength that makes me proud every single day.

If sharing the 4 Ts helps one family recognise the signs earlier, then it's worth sharing.

Happy 5th Diaversary, Kai. 💙 Diabetes is relentless but so are we.
