We are proud to share that Job’s a Good’n has now been taken over — and will continue to run with the same name, same values, and the same reliability you’ve always known.

This isn’t just a continuation of the business; it’s the continuation of something deeply meaningful.
Richard poured his heart into Job’s a Good’n. His reliability, hard work, fairness, and professionalism weren’t just part of the service… they were part of who he was. The standards he set, the pride he took in every job, and the friendships he built along the way shaped this business into what it is today.

We know how much it would mean to him to see his legacy carried forward, and that’s exactly what we intend to do.

Phil will now be leading Job’s a Good’n with the same dedication Richard lived by every single day. We’ll continue to offer the high-quality workmanship, honesty, and commitment that customers have always trusted — because that is what Richard would have wanted.

As we take the business forward, we’re now taking bookings for all decorating and home improvement jobs in the run-up to Christmas. If you need anything doing before the festive season, please get in touch — we’d be honoured to help.

Thank you for your continued support. Here’s to Richard’s legacy, and to the future of Job’s a Good’n.

The same heart. The same standards. A new chapter built on everything Richard created.

As you know, my husband, Richard passed away in July.

He was, as you all know, reliable, hardworking and honest as the day is long.

If you are in need of any work doing, we, as a family, can recommend Tony, who will be more than happy to assist you with any handyman services.

His number is: 07716 959921, should you wish to contact him.

Thank you - Jackie Marston.

💙 A special cause close to our hearts 💙

This year, my sister Ayesha is taking on the Great North Run in memory of our Dad, Richard, raising funds for the amazing charity Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care.

During Richard’s 14 months of treatment, Daft as a Brush provided him with vital transport to and from hospital. He always said that, when he was well enough, he’d love to volunteer for them himself – sadly, he never got the chance.

So now Ayesha is lacing up her trainers and running for him 💪. We’d love to help her raise as much as possible for this brilliant charity, so they can continue supporting other families like ours.

If you can spare anything at all (even the price of a coffee ☕), it would mean the world. Every little bit really does help.

Thank you so much for your support – let’s get behind Ayesha and keep Richard’s wish alive. 💙

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Richard, after a brave 14-month battle with cancer.

Richard wasn’t just the heart of this business – he was a friend to many and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He absolutely loved what he did, and over the years built not just a loyal customer base, but true friendships that meant the world to him.

If you would like to pay your respects, Richard’s funeral will take place at South Shields Crematorium, John Reid Road, NE34 9DT on Tuesday 29th July at 10.30am, followed by the wake at The New Sundial Pub, Sea Road, NE33 2LD.

In true Richard fashion, we’re asking everyone to wear their brightest and boldest shirts – he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Family flowers only please. Instead, donations are welcome to Daft As A Brush Cancer Patient Care, a charity close to our hearts. You can donate here: ajbellgreatnorthrun2025.enthuse.com/pf/ayesha-arundel

Thank you all for the kindness, support, and stories shared over the years – Richard truly valued every single one of you.

Thank you - Jackie
