EXCITING NEWS - BRADSHAW GASS & HOPE LLP ARE MOVING – 8th APRIL 2024

We are delighted to share some exciting news with you: after 160 years at our current address, we are moving premises! This marks a significant moment for our Practice, as we bid farewell to our home on Silverwell Street and embrace a new chapter in the Practices journey.

Silverwell Street has been more than just an address for us—it has been the very heart of our legacy, witnessing the growth and evolution of the Practice since its inception. Countless memories have been made within its walls, but as we look ahead, we believe it's time for a change and a new set of memories to be made.

Bolton has been our home from the beginning, and it will continue to be so as we transition to our new offices. Our new space has been carefully chosen to meet the evolving needs of the Practice, offering both our dedicated staff and valued clients an enhanced environment to work from and be welcomed into.

We invite you to join us in this exciting transition and look forward to welcoming you to our new premises soon. Stay tuned for more updates and details as we prepare for this next chapter together.

We're thrilled to announce the completion of our latest project, the Derby Racecourse Football Hub! This stunning facility, a jointly funded effort between Derby City Council and the Football Foundation, is set to redefine community sports provision in Derby.

Delivered under the UK Leisure Framework by Alliance Leisure Services, the hub is more than just a sports facility – it's a space designed to cater to the diverse needs of our community. With amenities including external artificial grass pitches, a café, changing rooms, seminar spaces, and fitness facilities, it's poised to become a hub of activity for both football enthusiasts and park users alike.
We're incredibly proud to have received recognition from the Derby Civic Society at the recent ABCD Awards 2024, where our hub was commended for its outstanding design, accessibility, and community focus.

Derby Racecourse Hub sits within a green triangle, historic parkland environment with significant challenges to delivery including the proximity of scheduled monuments, the location of the site on an ancient Roman trade route and not least the historic use of the site as a firing range with the risk of unexploded ordnance.

Archaeological excavations were carried out as an enabling works package prior to any works starting on site and an archaeological watching brief maintained throughout the substructure works. Bradshaw Gass & Hope LLP provided architectural, structural/civil engineering and principal designer services to Universal Group Ltd who acted as principal contractor on this £12m design and build project.

The rain has stopped, and the skies have brightened to welcome the arrival of the structural steel frame at our Ladywood Special Educational Needs Primary School project. The development will provide an additional 12 specialist classroom spaces and supporting welfare and staff accommodation and will be a significant asset to our client the Woodbridge Multi-Academy Trust, and the Borough of Bolton as a whole.

We are commitment to delivering SEND facilities across the northwest. Our expertise and dedication in this field is undoubtedly contributing to the successful completion and operation of such crucial educational facilities.

Expanding SEN provision is vital, given the increasing demand for specialised school places nationwide. The opening of this new facility in September 2024 will undoubtedly make a meaningful impact in meeting these needs.

Bradshaw Gass & Hope LLP are actively seeking opportunities to collaborate and develop new SEND provision projects. We have a willingness to engage with providers of SEND facilities reflecting our commitment to ensuring all students have access to the support and resources they need to thrive in their educational journey.

A great evening out last night supporting the Bolton Lads & Girls Club Awards Celebration. Great work by the Club providing support to all children in Bolton and its always good to see the happy and welcoming faces and the huge appreciation everybody involved with the Club has for helping others succeed!

A great evening at the North West Regional Construction Awards with a number of the team responsible for the concept, interpretation and delivery of Net Zero fire service estate. The foresight of Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service and Cheshire West and Chester Local Authority to deliver the Government climate change agenda across their building and services estate has seen a drive to achieve Net Zero on all new buildings and consideration of opportunities on existing property by 2035.

So you want to be an Architect!

It’s great to see our work experience programme swinging back into action again (following a Covid enforced break). We have been offering work experience opportunties to local schools and colleges for over 25 years providing ourselves with an opportunity to give a little back to the community that supports our Practice. We offer 12 weeks of work experience opportunity every year. Over the last 10 years we have provided opportunity to over 70 local school and college pupils.

It's great to see the Bradshaw Gass & Hope archive being showcased at Bolton Library and Museum for the next 3 months. The archive, which had resided in the cellars of our offices on Silverwell Street since 1868, was passed to Bolton Library and Museum Services to ensure its preservation. A unique insight is offered, into Bolton, and into many other towns and cities around the country with original drawings, photographs and documents that tell the story of a practice that holds a distinct position in Bolton’s history and the history of architecture.
