Stage 4: Drying. The Final Stage!

After a thorough wash and rinse, the rug goes into our tumble dryer. The spinning action removes around 95% of the remaining water, making sure the rug is ready for its final stage of drying.

We then hang the rug in our hot drying room, allowing it to dry completely and naturally before its journey home.

And that’s it! Clean, fresh and ready to be carefully packaged for collection or delivery! ✨

Stage 3: Rinsing & Water Extraction

After the washing comes the rinsing stage. The rug goes through our specialised rinsing machine, which thoroughly rinses the fibres with fresh, clean water while simultaneously squeezing out excess moisture.

The machine removes around half of the water from the rug, making it much easier and quicker to dry properly.

The fresh-water rinse also helps ensure that any remaining shampoo and loosened dirt are washed away, leaving the rug clean, refreshed and ready for the next stage of drying.

Stage 2: The Wash

Once the rug has been thoroughly dusted, it’s time for a deep wash.

First, we completely wet the rug before gently shampooing it with a soft brush. We use our own special rug shampoo, without harsh chemicals, to gently clean the fibres while helping to revive the wool and bring the pile back to life.

We wash the rug front, back, and front again, making sure every part is thoroughly cleaned.

It’s all about taking the time to give your rug the care it deserves.

You might be surprised by what’s hiding inside your rug! 😮🧹

Before we wash any rug, dusting is always the first step to release deeply trapped dust, dirt and debris.

We dust each rug twice — once face up and once face down — to make sure as much hidden dust as possible is removed. This process can also help dislodge unwanted pests and their eggs that may be hiding within the rug.

Why is dusting so important? Washing before dusting can cause the trapped dust and dirt to become embedded further into the fibres. That's why proper rug cleaning starts with a thorough dusting.
