So let’s make a start and get some feedback on the issues of crime in Calverley and how we prevent this and eradicate the problem,
Point 1/ I am currently looking to set up a private security firm to patrol the streets of Calverley 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
We would be interested in all views and who would be interested in this service. We would require in the region of 2000 property’s to sign up, to supply round the clock patrols of our streets of Calverley.
The cost of this would be 1 GBP per week per household payable in one off payment of 52 GBP to the company once registered.
Of course not everyone will want this and there will be differences of opinion but we are not looking to arrest the offenders but disperse them out of Calverley. There has been a few areas in the uk that have resorted to this approach and it has reduced the crime figures dramatically, in a village such as Calverley I would say it could be eradicated, but would require the funding and support from the whole village. The costs would be for staff all of who would be registered SIA members and fully trained in how to handle situations that would arise. Patrol vehicles and insurance for staff and vehicle upkeep and safety uniforms for staff to include body armour cameras and communication equipment, of course the more people join the more staff could be employed, giving us areas we could cover quicker.
You may say this is a job for the police, well yes it is but they can only provide so much presence due to there lack of resources and money which is all to familiar in todays society.
We would be lucky to see a police officer in the village for more than an hour a week thus making us a great target for would be offenders, they know this that’s why they target areas such as Calverley.
Crimes are less likely to occur if we have round the clock security patrolling our streets.
