A large project of front and rear garden transformation. The brief - Contemporary Cottage Garden. The front was a Mish mash of random planting from a typical planting job from building companies landscapers. It needing bringing back to scale with better suited plants to blend together. Space has been left for summer perennials to go in and border shapes improved.

The rear is near completion and will have further pictures to post shortly.
Serious amounts of heavy clay and stone were taken out to ensure a good healthy layer of soil is in place for plants roots. Lower down in the bed having a gravel layer will help with drainage.

Upright railway sleepers are focal points and create structure in borders to allow contrasting juxtapositions of striking foliage and colours of planting alongside them.

Lots of evergreens are used throughout to reduce maintenance and provide structure and screening throughout the year.

The brief. A tranquil garden with lots of foliar interest with contrast and structure. A use of Japanese ethos especially in the rear garden in spacing and balance. A use of hard landscaping materials to enable the plants to stand out. Privacy and tall screening plants blending with overall style at the rear was also key.
