For this large hallway redecoration, the colour drenching will include this oak wood meter box, and a couple of wooden windowsills 👍

I am using MYLANDS paints throughout, and as the colour drench will be a deep green, I am using the outstanding MYLANDS multi surface primer on these wooden surfaces, and all existing white woodwork 👍

This means the deep green topcoat has a perfect foundation to adhere to, and will ensure even and flat coverage 💚

Handy Stanley Trade Tip of the day ➡️

Whenever I use an Acrylic Durable paint (or any high quality trade paint) I thin it down slightly with some good old fashioned tap water, maybe 5%, or a small cup full per 2.5 litre...
..WHY?...

This helps the paint to flow evenly, leaves less brush and roller marks, and I find especially with Acrylic or Durable paints, makes the paint far easier to work with 👍

A new week, a new project ➡️ full hall, stairs, landing and downstairs cloakroom redecoration 😊

The first step, even before preparation, is using this Floor ProBoard protection to ensure the newly laid wooden floor is safely covered while I work here, and to also allow the customers to walk about when I am not here!

My job today has been to remedy and repaint this chimney breast wall, following a water leak which left stains on the coving and walls ➡️

The process was to ➡️

✅️ Scrape away loose and damaged flaking paint
✅️ Apply Peel Stop to prevent any further bubbling or flaking of the old paint
✅️ Stain block and prime the walls and coving with PS3 oil based primer
✅️ Repaint coving and walls with matched paints
✅️ Rehang picture frames higher up the wall than before

A relatively complex and involved day of work, but with a great end result 👍

✅️ Replacing one half of a broken bay window curtain track. This 'Patras' bendable curtain track kit did the job 👏
