Freestanding bath or walk-in shower? It's the question that splits nearly every bathroom project we work on right down the middle. 🛁

On one side, there's the freestanding bath. A proper soak at the end of a long day, candles on the windowsill, the kind of centrepiece that turns a bathroom into a retreat.

On the other, the walk-in shower. Rainfall head overhead, underfloor heating beneath your feet, ready in two minutes flat on a busy Wilmslow morning.

After 40 years of designing bespoke bathrooms across the North West, we've learned there's no wrong answer. Some homes have room for both. Some clients surprise themselves and switch sides halfway through the design process.

"Is it actually bespoke, or just expensive?"

It's a fair question, and one worth asking before you sign any bathroom quote. The word gets used so often it's started to lose its meaning.

Here's the line we draw: bespoke means the design starts with you, not with a catalogue. Your room's exact dimensions. The way you actually use the space in the morning. Where the light falls. Whether you want a bench in the wetroom or storage hidden behind the basin.

A standard suite is chosen from a range and made to fit. A bespoke bathroom is drawn around your home from the first measurement. Two very different things, often sold under the same word.
