Time to cut back overgrown santolina (cotton lavender) - it looks like an extreme haircut but it will ensure healthy growth for the next few years.

Well it’s been an insane weather week but thank goodness this beauty survived in my garden.

German Bearded Iris (Iris × germanica)

It has never flowered for me before despite throwing up leaves for the last few years. We just moved a trampoline tote grass next to it, so I can only assume that has helped lock the moisture into the soil.

It’s making a great contrast for my yellow Potentilla bush and some much needed colour while I wait for alliums to bloom.

Lots of elbow grease on this one - scrubbing ivy and Russian vine roots off the wall ready for repainting!
