Vicky and Christine have been out w**ding the central reservation on Underhill Street in the scorching sun!

Maintenance like this is the responsibility of Shropshire Council, but with seemingly no w**ding being done by them, we're having to step in where key areas are looking neglected. We never use w**d killers, so each w**d has been manually removed.

To help us achieve a tidier town, please consider w**ding outside your own home or business. It really makes a massive difference!

After our emergency pick this morning, the High Street is looking much cleaner! We've collected 13 bags of rubbish and removed the overflowing waste from the bins, which should hopefully keep them going until they next get emptied by Shropshire Council.

The bin by Parker Taylor has still not been replaced after being destroyed in April, meaning the remaining bins are filling up faster. We'll keep pushing for a replacement, along with the replacement of other missing bins across the town.

Yet again, we've woken up to a disgusting High Street.

Shropshire Council continues to fail to do the basics of emptying bins over weekends, the very time we need them to do so.

We're aware that Ludlow and other rural towns in the county are struggling with the same issue, so it's good to know we're not alone, but we can't imagine what tourists must think.

We'll be out to clear up as soon as we can, but in the meantime, please take any litter home that you may have this morning.

We've noticed a large amount of household waste has been appearing alongside the bin at the end of the bridge in recent weeks.

We do our best to remove litter, but we're unable to remove persistent fly-tipping, so we're keen for the person responsible to get in touch and work with us on keeping this area tidy. Together, we can resolve any waste disposal issues you may have.

In the meantime, we've reported the dreadful state of the litter bins in Low Town to Shropshire Council. These bins are badly neglected, and we don't think it's much to ask for them to be painted burgundy again.

Keeping our fingers (and toes) crossed! 🀞

Nearly 400 of you have now signed the petition calling on Shropshire Council to commit to starting repairs on Low Town Bridge next year!

Please keep supporting the local residents running this petition to help it reach 1000 signatures before September. You must live, work or study in Shropshire to sign, so please share with any friends and family in the area if you're outside of the county.

The petition can be found below:

Thank you for the huge amount of support we've received since cleaning the bridge railings yesterday!

Whilst we've managed to smarten things up temporarily, the bridge is still in desperate need of serious repairs, so please keep signing the petition below and help it reach 1000 signatures!

https://shropshire.gov.uk/committee-services/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?ID=500000089&RPID=758496390&HPID=758496390

Anyone living, working or studying in Shropshire can sign, and whilst repairs are scheduled for 2027-28, this is only provisional, meaning the start date could slip to 2029 or later. The longer it takes, the more expensive repairs will be, so we're keen for Shropshire Council to lock in a date for repairs to begin in 2027.

In the meantime, we'll be enjoying the Town Council's wonderful floral displays, which we're keeping a close eye on to help remove those pesky pint glasses and beer cans! 🌼🍺

We're in the Shropshire Star again this week - well done to Christine for getting the bridge back in the spotlight - but how many times do we need to keep doing this until Shropshire Council takes action!

The council said it was worried about the health and safety risks of the work
