🌱 What to do for your lawn after heavy rain 🌱

After major rainfall, your grass can feel a little stressed. Here are a few simple steps to help it bounce back:

βœ… Avoid walking on waterlogged areas – this prevents compaction and damage to the roots.

βœ… Check for pooling – if water is sitting on the surface, gently spike the lawn with a garden fork to improve drainage.

βœ… Hold off mowing until the ground firms up – cutting on wet soil can tear the grass and damage the turf.

βœ… Look out for debris – clear away leaves or branches to keep light and air reaching the grass.

With a little care, your lawn will recover quickly and be back to looking its best. πŸ’š

Following extensive member engagement and feedback, the Turfgrass Growers Association (TGA), the leading body representing the UK turfgrass industry, has announced a bold step towards environmental sustainability by banning the use of plastic netting in turf production by its members. This decision will take effect from 31st October 2026.

Whilst challenges still remain to finding cost-effective biodegradable options, we are offering support through seed solutions that can aid the fast and efficient production of turf without the need for netting. Our team of regional technical managers are available to answer questions on mixture selection and our complete range of sustainable turf solutions.

We have been at the forefront of raising the standard of the cultivated turf supplied to professional & domestic customers.

To maintain consistently high standards, all applicants for membership receive a personal visit & are vetted by the governing council of the TGA.

While it may be cheaper in the short term, low-quality turf will not hold up to the rigours of daily use & will likely need replacing far sooner than you expect.

For this reason, we implement our Quality Standards to ensure you can always trust TGA-approved turf.

Along with trees & algae, turf generates more oxygen than any other plant life on earth.

One acre of turf can provide enough oxygen for 64 people per day, more than one acre of rainforest.

Why would you even consider NOT using it?
