What a transformation this was! 👍🏻💡

Three years ago, we had the pleasure of carrying out a lighting and ceiling upgrade at St George’s Parish Centre.

A nice personal touch to this project for me—I actually went to play school there many years ago!

The works included:
✅ New suspended ceiling throughout
✅ New lighting circuits and switches in the main hall
✅ JCC LED ceiling panel lights installed, with integrated emergency lighting where required
✅ Two new JCC LED 6ft battens fitted in the entrance and kitchen areas
✅ Ceiling insulation installed throughout to improve energy efficiency

A fantastic project to be involved in, and great to look back on the transformation!

The existing fuse board was an older rewireable type, which isn’t designed to provide the level of protection expected in modern installations. By installing a dedicated consumer unit for the new kitchen circuits, the customer now benefits from improved safety and protection.

Older fuse boards may:

Proud to have played a part in helping get this project completed for Steve and the team at The Merry Monk in Taunton.

Over the last 2 years, we’ve carried out extensive electrical work throughout the kitchen, including rewiring most of the kitchen areas, DB upgrades, and power installations to support the new equipment — including the 3 new Rational ovens and replacement cooking equipment.

This project involved multiple night shifts to ensure the kitchen could continue operating with minimal disruption while the works were carried out safely and efficiently.

It’s great to see the finished result and the investment being made into both the kitchen and customer experience. The hard work from everyone involved has clearly paid off.

The distance people travel for the carvery says everything about the standards Steve and his team work to day in and day out.

The distance people travel to eat the carvery is a testament to the staff front and back of house of the service we now provide

🚨 BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND- COMMERCIAL CALLOUT COMPLETED 🚨

After receiving a call (Saturday 22:30) from one of our commercial clients reporting a burning smell, we attended site promptly to investigate and make safe.

Following fault finding, we traced the issue to a burnt out fused spur supplying a high current demand appliance.

On further inspection, there were two fused spurs installed side by side supplying high demand equipment. Due to the load requirements, these accessories were unsuitable for the application and at risk of further overheating or failure.

To prevent another issue occurring, we replaced both units with new correctly rated accessories and ensured the installation was safe and reliable moving forward.

✅ Fault found quickly
✅ Burnt accessory replaced
✅ Second unit proactively replaced
✅ Client made safe with minimal downtime

We’re officially updating our name from BMH Electrical and Maintenance to BMH Electrical Contractors.

While maintenance will always be part of what we do, the new name better reflects the full range of work we now deliver — from small domestic jobs to full rewires form domestic works to commercial warehouses and offices. We’ll also continue providing our specialist Bathroom Refurbishments, offering a complete start-to-finish service.

For a long time, the business operated out of a shipping container. It kept us lean while we built the company, but we’ve finally outgrown it.

We’ve now moved into our first dedicated commercial unit right here in our local area Bridgwater. With our own office, storage, and welfare facilities for the team, we’re better equipped than ever to manage projects of any size while staying organised, responsive, and reliable.
