Was so busy last week, had no time for images and posting.

Gaps more than 5mm,4 caulks to fill, filling and sanding new plaster
Leyland emulsion and gloss bought on labour only.

Was told £350 labour before I knew all this, so I accepted

2 to 3 days max as rooms were spot on apparently.

Future clients please note, small works is prep, spending days is snagging bad workmanship

We've requested a price lift

Currently been prepping this listed property in Scarborough. I'm using filler to bring the broken pieces back in neat by careful sanding to shape and using craft knives to cut the mass away to save time.

You'll see more images tomorrow of level of prep I go to.

And you'll see why my finish is already being spoken of by me now as flawless for this one 😊

Preprimed wood is even bitty/bumpy and needs a sand back 🙄

Currently do first flat of 3 flats on a price job in Scarborough

Was initially told all would be ready at same timing of me starting and doing next flat should knock straight on. This isn't the case, after this flat we will need a local quote to paint 1 or 2 rooms at the most (if more we can come back after this and another Filey job we have booked).

As it's day fillers I'll do the work at a discounted £135 a day, you supply materials.

We are currently making good the work of previous decorators at a project in Bridlington, snags mainly

Due to finish this week, unless the site gains extension allowing me to finish it to my spec standard, not standards of a HMO (which they didn't even achieve at that, poor workmanship is the politest I can say, but they was either blind, have parkinsons disease or both).

We have impressed to the point of a rate lift, continuation if granted and future works, which are upcoming within a few weeks to a month and another tradesman has offered to put me earning on some of his projects.

We have a refurbed property to paint in Scarborough next week on price.

We also recently registered as a maintenance company for TWI Contracting Solutions Ltd, who cater for elderly and disabled housing association residents within the local area.

With these 4 new contacts, plus the odd quote request coming in without any advertising spends, we may be looking to take on personnel again as was the case before my spinal fractures.

We've secured a contract with NWI Contracting Solutions to repair property for disadvantaged council and housing association tenants around Bridlington and surrounding areas.

Hopefully, this will see through my business return, and potentially save the Ltd company from downgrading back to sole trader. However, downgrading isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I'm hoping, with more and more requests being phoned or texted in, that I can make use of the reappearance of a trusted old worker of ours, who gained much reviews for us and plenty of repeat requests, to add to my own skills here.

Keep an eye out for our growth as things develop, there may be jobs in the pipeline again.

We will require a labourer but only on casual, as and when terms initially

Today we had to go fill in the holes in a property that gave access to the recently terminated mice infestation.

Using wire wool to stop chewing through, I filled the gaps with gap filling foam and wire

Sealed a crack between bath and wall upstairs and shuttered off an access point in the kitchen cupboard.

No job too big or small (grass cutting is no longer a service we offer, unless willing to pay minimum call out charge of 3hrs labour - please don't ask).

Today's booking (out of town) failed to mention when booking a garden and garage space clear out labour job, that they'd had rats in the garage, with me discovering this myself, nearly with bare hands without mentioning this upon booking.

I had agreed, due to no tools required and ease of task, £15ph labouring fee would suffice, removing hazardous substances is not a labourers fee task and I had not been given correct information to use correct PPE for own health and safety.

Causing me to decide to halt the job after only 2 hours and charge my minimum 3 hour call out charge for the task.

Please do not hide elements of a task to us, as we will respond with raising fee or halting work and charging the period done so far and any travel costs.

I will not risk my health just so you save £5 to £10ph

We can announce we will be continuing for the foreseeable future, due to previous happy customers contacting for return of service, new customer requests and a contract with a local care provider fixing bits in homes.

The contractor will also support a step back down to sole trader status.
