Originally established in 1990 following my personal skills with a variety of building, construction and timber treatment companies since 1975. Gained a wide range of experience in general property maintenance. The service offered to clients is primarily of repair and maintenance of commercial, let, managed domestic household properties with a particular quick response to the security of any prope
rty. One such highlight of refurbishment was of Stanmer House eradicating dry rot affected timbers and overhauling all the sliding sash windows. This led to setting up Dinnages Property Maintenance from an office right in the heart of Brighton, soon gaining a portfolio of clients based on managed and let properties primarily direct for owner landlords although a number of agents soon took on my services. Of our client base over my 35+ years to 2025, there have been many, both national and local agents in management and letting, those commercial in insurance, English Language schools, shopkeepers along with a personal contact list of residential properties. Relocated to a workshop in a Mews over in Hove around 2001, giving us means to manufacture some of our own joinery requirements, until mid 2022 when all the machines were sold off, and vacated the premises by December that year. Since 2001 working for the former M L Banfield & Sons, as a back-up locksmith, I moved on to start my own Locksmith services by 2007. I have since that loss of Banfields, purchased some five different key duplication machines of my own, and offered a mobile service to my existing clients for the most common key duplications from the van, while for bulk sets, these are undertaken back at base, on a next day turnaround service. During the pandemic I filled in for Dockerills until staff came back off paid furlough. Went on to assist Southcoast Locksmiths in Newhaven on thier East Brighton work as well as locksmith work for Haines Security in Kemp Town, both of which I am still working for alongside a number of Churches, a few letting agents and long time private landlords too. I have however considered myself now semi-retired and no longer taking on new clients, as a gradual wind down and to enjoy more time with my good lady wife, I married in 1986.
