Not only do Victorian-style shutters look the part, but they also provide added security and help regulate indoor temperatures throughout the year, from cold winter days to warm summer months.

The brief for this kitchen project was to design, build and install Victorian-style shutters that complemented the existing Shaker-style kitchen cupboards. We think they create a striking focal point, offering a beautiful contrast to the newly installed anthracite aluminium French doors.

While plantation shutters are a popular choice, Victorian-style shutters are equally at home in a Victorian or Georgian property, enhancing the character and period charm of the space.

Clean lines and a good contrast were achieved on this Bristol Kitchen project. We love the navy blue cabinets and white quartz worktops, with matching up stands.

The brief for this kitchen addition was to re-jig the electric oven layout, creating more storage while matching the existing cupboard door style and colour — in this case, Farrow & Ball French Gray.

Additional doors were also made and sprayed, with the frames to be painted by the customer at a later date to match.

Solid oak worktops were added to the new kitchen units, creating a great contrast with the French Gray cupboard doors and drawers.

Gaining space with a bespoke wardrobe.

Previously the room felt narrow. Turning the wardrobe 90 degrees makes the room feel squarer in shape, giving more options for furniture layout.

Going full height also meant we could reduce the width to fit into its new location, while not reducing storage space.

Matching the wardrobe to the wall colour meant the wardrobe blends in more and feels unobtrusive.
