LIVING ROOM TRANSFORMATION ✨❇️ as much as I love “before and after” content, I sometimes think they do such a disservice to all the in between phases of a room renovation. Including the dreaded “worse before it gets better” phases!

Here’s how we transformed our living room - which was probably one of the easiest rooms in the house to do tbh in terms of structure and vision! Though the “room of doom” years were tough, as was the time a rat got in there 😭 It’s still one of my favourite rooms in the house, even though it’s more of a playroom now! And I’m still obsessed with the dark green. 💚

GARDEN WIP UPDATE 🪴 the wall is built - now we just need to get some turf! Oh and, plants etc. Thanks to the lovely for finishing the wall in the hammering rain! Real commitment to the job there.

Would love some recommendations for Bristol local garden centres, nurseries, turf suppliers please. And if you have any plants or ideas - please throw them my way!!

The garden’s a fixer upper too! At the moment I feel very overwhelmed when I look at the garden 😅

It’s a very decent size, and Ross has done an amazing job of clearing it. We’re having a retaining wall and steps built next month which I’m really excited about - that will help to be able to see what we’re working with. And I can’t wait to have some turf for the toddler to play on. He’s such an outdoors boy - he’s going to love it!

But for now it’s a muddy, full of broken glass (no idea why) community cat toilet 🐈💩

Any tips for a west facing garden, or tips for a wanna be but overwhelmed gardener - very welcome!

Our 5th Christmas in this house! Having a Christmas tree with a toddler has been…interesting! You’ll see there are very few decorations on the bottom section of the tree 😂

Wishing you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas time 🎄

Autumn mornings 🍂 I love this tree, I have not idea what kind of tree it is, but it’s always such a good colour, particularly in the autumn! I can’t wait to look out onto a finished garden one day, but for now, the tiles and tree detract from the mud pit 😂

The Last One 🙌 it’s only taken 4 years, but we’re finally getting around to decorating the HSL 😅 swipe for the before.

It’s such a big job, and we’ve kind of been putting it off for a long time. I’m really excited to take you on the journey to finishing this space - and the whole house (we’re ignoring the snag list and the garden!). There’s a lot of prep work to do before we can get the paint on the walls and stairs, and it’s tricky to fit that in around the baby, but Ross has made some huge progress already by adding the dado and moulding.

I hope you’ll enjoy following along on his final renovation project!

Still love our pink bathroom - this time of year in this west facing room - we’re treated to some beautiful golden sunsets which really make this colour pop 🌞

It’s been a big week in the fixer-upper household - our little boy turned one! 1️⃣🌈🎂🥳

Everyone said it would go quickly, but OMG IT’S GONE SO QUICKLY?! Where is my baby 🥲

Here’s a little sneaky peaky of a couple of finished projects we’ve been working on. The sexy patio is done ✅ as is the alcove seat ✅ and big progress is being made in the garden 🪴

We had a little family party for the birthday boy and both Ross and I had a little “pinch me” moment when we saw our guests mingling around the kitchen, drinking champagne on the patio, and baby scooting about the kitchen floor - that this is what we wanted all along, and this is what we’ve worked so hard to achieve 🥹 I’m proud of us!

Sorry I’ve been so rubbish at stories and updates lately. Going back to work has been good but, I have EVEN LESS time to do nice things like Instagram 😔When the dust settles I’ll be back 👌

My happy place ☺️ the bathroom was the first room we “finished” (is it ever finished!) and has always been our sanctuary in a renovation house!

Fun fact: the wall behind the sink and shower is false 😮 we built it out to hide the tap connections

I don’t really like to post baby stuff, but these two products are as equally brilliant for baby as they are aesthetically pleasing!

I debated which high chair to get for so long, because like everything - there is so much choice and so many opinions! In the end I took the plunge and went for the tripp trapp. It’s spenny, real spenny - but I’m happy to make the investment for something that’s going to be worth it and last - and this chair should technically last into adulthood, so that’s pretty good bang for my buck. I love that it’s a gorgeous piece of furniture and super practical too. Most importantly baby loves it and it’s so nice having him be a part of meal times. You can pick them up on Facebook marketplace - but they were all pretty beaten up and still quite pricey (they really hold their value which is a good sign!).

The second is this playmat from . Again, it’s a lovely design addition to our dining room - but it’s a squishy and wipeable play mat! We’ve made such good use out of it already - and it’s double sided with another equally cool design on the other side l, so we can mix it up.
