You never know what you'll find when you start stripping wallpaper... first thing I found in this hallway was a second layer of patterned wallpaper and underneath that was a 70s vibe painted mural.
Both layers of paper stripped, walls filled and made good before re-lining with wallrock fibreliner.
Woodwork rubbed down followed by primer
2x supermatt white to cielings
2x 'Pacific oyster' to walls
2x johnstones aquaguard durable satin to woodwork.

A colour drench for this lovely old cottage. Cielings, walls and woodwork finished in 'pudding'
Lots of cracks to rake out and put right on these wonderfully wonky walls.
New blinds and carpets being fitted shortly to finish off the room.

Mould treated and cleaned away, residue stain blocked before painting
Old glossed woodwork rubbed back, filled in and primed followed by johnstones aquaguard durable satin
Walls went a shade lighter than before as the old colour was discontinued

Same location as last week, this time the larger of the two bedrooms.
Window wall and the small return was in a condition that sanding and filler couldn't really fix so lined with wallrock fibreliner to give a smooth base for painting
Same colour as last week "polished pebble" mixed in trade vinyl matt.
Damp and water marks stainblocked x3 as it still kept coming through (roof was replaced a while ago so not an ongoing damp problem)
Woodwork finished in johnstones aquaguard durable satin

I did the final coat of white in the alcove just before taking the after pictures so it still shows as flashing through... will all dry evenly once the paint is dry

Old cottage with very little room to maneuver, I ended up working on a one way system 🤣
My T&C's state that a room must be cleared of all furniture and belongings before my arrival, failure to do so will incur an added cost for me to do it or me getting back in the van, going home and not returning until its done, however on quoting, it was discussed that on this occasion it wasn't possible so I was happy to work this way and knew what I was walking into on monday morning.... managed to make it work despite the tight squeeze.
Walls wernt great but expected being an older property, there was what seems a whole tube of silicone around the window frame which all needed to be removed and filled the correct way.
2x supermatt white to cieling

Woodwork rubbed back, primed, filled and followed by 2x johnstones aquaguard durable satin.

Old oil based gloss rubbed back followed by an adhesion primer
Old paint removed from hinges, because that really just bugs me
2x johnstones aquaguard durable satin.

Cieling had been painted with a standard emulsion which unfortunately was always destined to fail, rooms with constant moisture need a paint specifically designed to withstand it.
All loose paint scraped back to bare plaster, entire cieling sealed with zinsser gardz before filling and 2x zinsser perma white anti mould paint.

(Cieling still wet in after photos.... will dry evenly)

I did do the kitchen/diner also but in my haste to pack up and get out of the family's way so they could enjoy their Sunday lunch I forgot the after pictures 🙄

Last weeks job... handrail stripped, layers and layers of old gloss taken back to bare timber.
A billion spindles and a forever stream of woodwork sanded, primed/undercoated followed by 2x johnstones aquaguard durable satin
Walls had 3x coats top "summer linen" bottom "knotted twine"
I never want to see a spindle ever again 😅
