Some photos of today's job. We were brought in by our customer to re-pollard two sycamore trees after one of the trees had recently dropped a large branch over the road. They had been previously pollarded many years ago, so it was well overdue, and they were a safety concern due to the size of the regrowth off the old pollard points.

By pollarding the trees, it reduces the risk of branch failure during storms as the new growth will be smaller and the tree will have less weight in the canopy. It also keeps the trees from interfering with the nearby properties and the power line that runs up the road and is adjacent to the trees.

Check out the before and after photos of today's first job.
We reduced the conifer hedge to 7ft from the ground level.

At this height, it will be easier for our customer to keep the hedge maintained.

All hedges were checked for nesting birds prior to us carrying out any work.

Today, we have been working alongside National Grid to safely reduce the height of this Portuguese laurel for one of our customers.

Due to the size of the tree and how close the bare overhead power lines were to the tree, we had to schedule the work with National Grid so we could get the power shut down, to safely reduce the height of the laurel.

What a great job to finish off the week.

This afternoon's job was to remove this silver birch tree, which had become too big for the area in which it had been planted. The tree also had several cavities in the top of the canopy due to the tree having a heavy reduction that was carried out in the past, and the tree just couldn't heal the cuts over properly as they were too large, which resulted in decay and the cavities forming.

We had to be very careful when we were removing the tree due to four Broadband cables. Two of which were going directly through the tree, and the other two cables were going directly past the tree.

Unfortunately, today we had to remove a large apple tree. The tree had several pockets of cavity at the base of the tree, and was 50% rotten at the base.

Check out this before-and-after of the laurel hedge that we reduced last week.
We reduced the hedge by over half its height, down to 7ft from the ground. This will make the hedge easier for our customer to keep maintained.

We attended two call-outs today.

The first call out was for a tree that had fallen onto a roof. We visited the site and found a dead elm tree that had fallen over and was resting on the property's roof.
Unfortunately, the tree had damaged several roof tiles, so we covered the hole in the roof with some plastic sheets to try to stop any water from getting into the roof space.
The Second call out was to another dead elm tree that had fallen over and was resting in another tree over a public footpath. We attended the site and removed the tree to keep the public safe.

A before-and-after photo of a small silver birch that we reduced for a commercial customer.

We were asked to reduce the Birch tree as it started to grow over the car park, which restricted the length of the car parking bays, which meant the residents had to park into the tree.

Some before-and-after photos of a hornbeam hedge that we recently reduced.
We were asked to reduce the height of the hedge, as it had become overgrown and too tall for the customer to take care of. We reduced the height of the hedge to a more reasonable height for the customer
