And 2023 is a go go!šŸ–ŒļøšŸŽØ

What a great return to work this week and a pleasure to work with a new fantastic product (well for me anyway)….

Look at how this ā€˜Flowers & Foliage’ feature wallpaper brings this kitchen/dinner alive. A very hardwearing product that’s textured and completely wipeable, making it very appealing to the youngest in the family!

The room completed with a feeling of fluidity throughout the open space, brought together by ā€˜Bonjour’ yellow arch and window trims.
All balanced on ā€˜Fine Cream’ by in their ultra scrubbable Diamond Matt finish, which again is another incredibly hard wearing product.

We love transforming customers tired hallways and stairs. It’s such an important part of the home, connecting nearly every room and quite often one of the first things you see when you open the front door.

Painting banister railings isn’t the easiest jobs but you can’t help feeling very satisfied with the end result.
Especially when it looks this good!

Walls finished in elephants breath for some very soft and warm grey tones, then the woodwork finished in satin wood for some sharp line detail. Original handrail left in place for character.

Hey šŸ‘‹ who likes a well organised room.... better still, who loves a dressing room/walk in wardrobe?!

Check these before and after shots of a little box room I turned around for a customer recently. I really love the mix of the industrial shelving with the traditional dressing table.

And of course my favourite.... a dash of PinkšŸ–Œ Calamine by

I recently had the challenge of sourcing a bespoke vanity unit top. You can see how tired and water damaged the old wooden top was, so it was time for a freshen up.

It took some time to find the perfect material, that wasn’t super expensive or that you had to buy a big piece of. But after fitting a slate hearth for a fire place, I thought why not use a thinner piece of slatešŸ’”

So after some hunting around and some precise measurements (checking, re-checking & checking again) the guys at came through with this gorgeous piece of Welsh slate that fitted like a dream.šŸ˜…

I love the imperfections through the slate, it makes it unique and a feature in itself. Bit of a spruce up on the grouting tiles and I’m really pleased with the result.

Let’s talk Kitchen Reno.... this one had to be a complete rip out and rebuild of the whole room.

The kitchen had clearly seen some use but there where parts of it that couldn’t be fixed and where falling apart and the oven was connected to a gas bottle. šŸ™ƒA lot of prep was needed from rewiring to rebuilding walls.

Design wise you can see how much light we had to work with and how the old cupboards and dark worktop swallowed it up, not to mention it gave a really awkward work space.
So an kitchen was the one for this. I really rate IKEA kitchens, they have smart design features like secret draws and pull out slim pantry racks, which makes the most of those awkward spaces. Also I put in thinner work surface on one side to give the illusion of a bigger space but still have workable prep space.

I think the trick to making a budget kitchen look good is adding a quality handle. These match the work surface to tie it all in really well.

I’m sure you’ll agree the space is now, light, workable and easy to clean.

Just found this landscaping fix up from last year. You can’t quite see in the before photo but there was an disused (very smelly) pond that needed moving and then filling in with flag stone paving to match.
After plenty of digging around the garden and what was left from the pond, I managed to find enough stone to also build this dry stone wall planteršŸ’ŖšŸ»

Building a dry stone wall is honestly one of the hardest things I’ve done. I guess patience is king here, oh and being good at a jigsaw helps.

It’s a pretty great result though and matches the other side of the patio which completely tidies it up. Just need that grass to grow now...

I love the end result of my work. (Unfortunately no before pic againšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø)

Walls painted in Railings.
Woodwork finished in satin wood.

The one part I really enjoyed about fixing up this room was the pax wardrobe. It’s wasn’t the easiest of jobs to do as each panel needs prepping, premiering, painting and sealing.
Rebuild the wardrobe, add some gold handles and look at the result šŸ˜
Looks great right? The appearance of a built in wardrobe but a fraction of the price. šŸ™ŒšŸ»

I can’t take all the credit though, the customer has dressed the room with some creative touches which complete this room.

I’ll post more on this fix up later but couldn’t resist sharing this amazing bath I fitted a while ago. It’s always nerving when you start to paint a brand new white bath, but I reckon it was worth it.

Can’t beat a Pink and Grey combo!

Sorry about the pinsšŸ‘€ I had just laid the floor to admire it’s glory.

A big fix up needs big vision! āš’ļø

Light is key when designing a space; channeling my inner šŸ˜‰
Here’s a typical example (2nd photo) when not to use a dark colour, the black beams in this room, they just make it feel smaller and dingy. And that green carpet 🤢, sucked all the light (and life) out of the room.

Taking back the partition wall just enough to let the extra light though really opened up this space, but at the same time keeping some separation from the kitchen.

Fast forward 5 coats of white on those bloody beams šŸ™„ to hide the black gloss. A little demolition and rebuild then add some colour....
On the walls I used School House White by which softened the white ceiling and complimented the tones in the stone. This also allowed for the statement velvet sofa which as bold as it is, it also compliments the other natural tones and textures. I love this room and it has brought this 18th Century cottage back to life.

Check this cheeky little home office fix up!
Now we live in the ā€œworking from home ageā€ it’s more important than ever to clear the clutter and have a space you feel at ease in.
I was able to turn this room around before 2.0 kicked in!
The room it self is the smallest room in a 1930’s house and as beautiful as the Oriel window is, it doesn’t always let the light in around the room.

**side note... as you get to know me you will know that I just like to crack on and get the job done, so I often forget to take a before pic!šŸ™„**

So imagine grey walls, big piles of paperwork and not a lot of light.....

First of I swapped the grey for a soft green never be afraid of a bold colour in a small room (I don’t believe the old saying).
To help further having some greenery in the room gives it a connection with the outside world.
Other important fixes that win here are having the desk in the light and of course a good old fashioned declutter!
