Our new term of DIY clubs got under way last night. In this chilly weather, it's great to get people moving around. So under the basins they go, with adjustable spanners to hand. What a fun way to spend a Tuesday evening

The Practical Women team are in the process of planning some practical DIY Courses. We are hoping to start delivering the courses early in 2022. It would be a great help if anyone interested in the idea would complete our online questionnaire. Apparently it should take 8 minutes (plus a bit of thinking time, or may be the 8 minutes includes thinking time - please let us know)
We have got lots of ideas about what we would like to do, but we would really like to hear what you would want to get out of a DIY skills course.
We're really excited about this project, so if you have a few moments (or 8 mins), please follow the link and fill in the questionnaire.

Fabulous tweet - so many positive responses from other women working in construction.

“My 4 year old daughter asked “why are builders always mens?” It would be great to show her it isn’t true. Can anyone help? Any great women builders out there care to send her a message? ”

The Practical Women Team are slowly starting to get back to work and has been contacting our customers this week. If you haven't heard from us yet, we will be in touch over the next few days.
In the meantime we have drawn up a set of working practices which we will be using to keep our customers and ourselves safe, as we return to work.
Please check them out on our website. We are very keen to receive feedback on our working practices as we want to find the safest and most effective ways of working:

Practical Women - Response to Covid-19
In the light of the Prime Minister's address last night on television, the Practical Women Team are working on our own practices for returning to work.
Much of our work is carried out in people's houses, so it is essential that we implement practices that keep both our customers and our team safe.
At the moment there are no official guidelines available from the government to help us draw up our working practices. We anticipate that there will be more information available later today.

In the meantime, we have been working on updating our website with helpful information to support our customers during the Lockdown and beyond. We have also posted more information about some of the projects that we have been involved in recently. Please take a look at www.practicalwomen.co.uk

We will be contacting all our current and waiting list customers over the next few days to discuss a possible return to work.

If you are interested in the Practical Women team carrying out some work for you, please feel free to get in touch, either via Facebook, or through our website. We will be very happy to discuss your project with you, and find ways to adapt our working practices to support you.

In the meantime, please stay safe. We look forward to seeing all our customers in the not too distant future
