Kate Savill Landscapes Multi-Award Winning Garden Designer
Creative and imaginative designer, working with nature, environment and most importantly; - people.

Growing up in the picturesque Cornish landscape, surround by coastline, I have always felt a strong connection with nature. Studying fine art at college and university, creativity comes naturally to me. After completing a Diploma in Garden Design from the Pickard School, I carried out an apprenticeship in Horticulture and Design with the Homebase Garden Academy. Since the Academy, I have been work

ing full time for Adam Frost working on a range of projects from private clients’ gardens to international show gardens and charity schemes. Coming from a fine art background I love to use my creativity to paint with my planting. I thrive in sourcing influence from all around me to realise my clients’ hopes and expectations; creating something truly personally for each individual.

Homegrown limes are the best, you have to do absolutely nothing and the tree gives you abundance! Margarita anyone?!

I felt like I bumped into an old friend the other day, walking Sonny to school. I noticed a plant I know to be culantro, the leaves are used a lot in cooking in Costa Rica, grows wildly all over the place in grassy areas. Tastes a bit like coriander, well it's only an Eryngium - Eryngium foetidum, mexican coriander. Love making connections through plants and places, also reminds me of the plants back home.

I haven't posted for a long time as I've been looking after our new baby in the jungle! But thought this worthy of a post; a lovely update from a client and a picture of the garden I designed in the pandemic. The was opened up for the and had over 500 visitors. So lovely to receive updates like these when I'm so far away!

Mangos growing outside our casita! Pretty amazing to see how many are on the trees, wonder how much they would be in a supermarket back in the UK!

Our Story

Kate Savill Landscapes undertakes a range of projects, from inner-city sanctuaries to large family gardens. Kate combines her love of functional design, her sharp eye for detail and her passion for plants in every garden; taking pride in listening to a client's brief and aspirations to create a truly personal space for them.

Growing up in the picturesque Cornish landscape, Kate has always felt a strong connection to nature. After completing her degree in Fine Art in 2010, she decided to combine her creative talents with her love of the natural world, gaining a distinction in her diploma at the Pickard School of Garden Design in Bristol. Her planting style has often been described as "painting with plants", using texture, form and colour as her palette to create a unique ambience in her work.

Following her diploma, she worked full time alongside multi-award winning Garden Designer, Adam Frost, delivering a wide range of projects; from large rural retreats to international show gardens and urban charity schemes. During this time, she also won an RHS Gold Medal for her own show garden at the RHS Young Designer of the Year final in 2015.

Kate returned to Bristol in 2016 to start her own practice, and alongside creating a number of gardens for her clients in the area, she has designed and built two RHS Chelsea Flower Show gardens: The Jo Whiley Scent Garden in 2017, and the Warner Edwards Garden in 2018. The Warner Edwards Garden is now a permanent feature at the artisan gin company's distillery in Northamptonshire. She also won Best in Show for her planting design at BBC Gardeners' World Live 2017.
