This is the result when contractors simply dot and dab sheets of plasterboard straight onto masonry walls affected by rising damp !!!

Maximum readings of 99% were recorded!! Very damp !!

Abutting boundary walls can cause extensive damage to the property and the internal wall plaster along with causing structural timbers to decay.

It is important to maintain these walls to prevent as much rain water from penetrating or even better, cut them back to create a clear gap if possible !!

Severe surface condensation forming here on the concrete ceiling due to the very low thermal quality of the building.

The cavity walls are un insulated too and are affected in the same way.

Typical 1970’s build!!!!

Having foliage growing over buildings like here in this photo can cause severe internal damp and structural building issues
The growth has blocked the gutter and therefore allowed water to enter in around the window causing the plaster to become perished.

Is your roof and chimney stack in good shape?

The defective render on this one had allowed water to ingress into the loft room causing extensive damage and decay to the rafters

Make sure you are watertight as this type of defect if left can be very costly!!
