Full Colour Drench, November 2025, Fishponds. This client had recently purchased this property & had a vision. He wanted a full colour drench on an odd shaped front living room which at one time was a local corner shop. There was so much prep to do on this room, from removing old fixtures & fittings to sanding all the many wood & plastered surfaces. The ceiling was in a bad state but after a intense few hours of sanding I managed to get it to a level I was happy with & ready for paint. It took quite a while before I could start painting but as with all my jobs, good prep leads to a good finish.

1st fence replacement in over 6 months & I couldn’t be happier to be working again.

I am fully recovered from my operation in which I had a massive cancerous tumour, my left kidney & some lymph nodes removed.

Thank you for all the well wishes I have received, it’s been greatly appreciated & kept me going. 🙏

Fence & Gates, Autumn 2024, Fishponds Pt 1. I really enjoyed this project, great weather & really friendly clients. To start with I built & installed a featheredge fence & 6ft gate, initially for privacy but also to to help shield the clients from cross winds. Next I installed some gate posts & 3ft gate at the bottom of the garden. Finally I erected a 16 x 6ft featheredged panel fence, something the clients have wanted for years & now have. A completely private garden.

Renovate concrete door canopy, Sea Mills, May 2024

Part 2 of 2 jobs for an elderly client in Sea Mills. Another reasonably straightforward job. Topside I brushed off, masked off & applied a couple of coats of waterproof bitchamin paint. The underside I scraped the areas that needed it & applied a few coats of Brilliant White Sandex Job done, wasn’t too costly & looks amazing now. These kinds of jobs I do quite a lot, especially for the elderly & sometimes arranged by their children like this job. Check out more of my jobs, outdoor & indoor on my page.

Corrugated plastic roof replacement, Sea Mills, May 2024

This was 1 of 2 jobs I done for a 91 year old lovely lady in Sea Mills. It was pretty straight forward. Take down the old structure that has been in place about 35 years & replace with something similar. Applying the waterproof flashband tape between the wall & the corrugated sections was quite tricky & took a little longer than I expected. The job took about a week & the client was over the moon with the result & the cost (£1300).

This room needed a full overhaul. Dark old wallpaper stripped, damaged & cracked walls taped & filled, a huge crack above the door meshed, concreted & filled. A massive transformation at very little cost & took just over a week to do. Shed replacement, April 2024, Bradley Stoke. A returning client has been putting off replacing her shed for quite a while but finally she bit the bullet & asked me to do it. Not only did I demolish & dispose of her old dilapidated shed & replace the shed, but I also researched for hours & found what I thought would be a decent replacement. All part of the service when you are a DIWHY client. The pictures pretty much tell the story of how it went. A few hurdles to jump but I love a challenge & got it done. Fence/Gate Repair, Stoke Bishop, April 2024. Client had a rotted fence panel & a snapped fence/gate post that needed replacing. First job was to get out the old fence post which tbh was not enjoyable & was time consuming but I love a challenge & got it out in the end. I concreted in a new post, erected a new featheredged green panel, done a bit of block paving repair & relaid a flag stone that was leaning up against the shed & that was it? Not quite! The gate needed trimming, rehanging & I also replaced some of the ironmongery. Job done, client more than happy that I went above & beyond the projects original remit which is one of my traits unfortunately but most clients appreciate that & my attention to detail.

Fence Repair/Garden cleanup, Horfield April 2024. Client had a couple of dogs that kept escaping her garden & wanted me to make & erect some small bespoke panels to stop this happening. I identified four areas that needed attention but before I could build these panels I had to clean out these areas of overgrown bramble’s, disregarded decking, general waste & an out of control tree. I built 3 small panels out of a client supplied fence panel & the last panel I built in place with some feather edge boards. Finally I done a couple of skip runs to get rid of the waste, job done. Client really happy & dogs well contained in there own garden now.

8m Fence, Sneyd Park, March 2024. My first fence of the year for a really nice & helpful client in a beautiful property just off the downs in Bristol. He purchased his own materials for this project before I was consulted so once I knew what he wanted a few more gravel boards & quite a few more bags of post crete was needed. The 7ft concrete posts were too short too so they had to be changed for 8ft ones. Once the fence was completed I cleared the land of big boulders, rocks, a small hedge & levelled out the area ready to be back filled with chippings. Job done, client really happy with the result & now he has somewhere to park his vans as parking was the main reason for this project.

Porch refurbishment, Henleaze, March 2024. An elderly client had a leaking porch for many years which had destroyed many carpets & the floor below it. Firstly I had to locate the leak so took out all the UPVC roof panels, bars & fittings. I removed what seemed like tons of silicone from previous bodged attempts at fixing the problem, cleaned up everything I could & refitted everything. I had to use some clear silicone in a few areas but not as much as was on there before. Stopped the leak then started on the floor which smelt really bad & all needed to come out right back to the substrate. Replaced with fresh sand, new insulation, concrete & finished with a levelling compound. My friend Tom put in the underlay & carpet, he’s my go to carpet guy every time. Finally a cleaned everything internally as I felt it needed doing & I’m not a corner cutting person so always go above & beyond. Job done, client over the moon & doesn’t have to worry about this problem anymore. Job price £1300. Living room wallpapered, Henleaze, February 2024. This elderly client was in hospital having a planned operation whilst I was doing this project so it was perfect timing for job to take place. Pretty straightforward, empty the room of a lot of the furniture, remove picture hooks & screws etc, strip the old wallpaper, clean up & repair the cracked walls & apply fresh wallpaper. Client was proper chuffed with the finish once he came out of hospital & so was I. Completed job cost £1300 which included materials.
