Although I tend to mostly post pictures of garden makeovers, a lot of my work is just clearing spaces that have got out of control or regular maintenance of small gardens. It’s hard sometimes if you’re working and / or dealing with children / family to make your garden a priority. This one a few weeks ago took quite a big effort. Can you spot the path and gate 😁 !!

Another garden makeover - a small artificial lawn for the three boys to play some football on. In spaces like this where grass struggles to grow, the artificial lawn can be a good solution!!

A very sweet and simple front garden transformation. A huge buddleia had pretty much taken over the whole garden so we cleared that away and created a tranquil low maintenance space with a small patio where there will eventually be a centrepiece small tree in a pot - as yet undecided - surrounded by some beautiful and unusual welsh stone.

Really enjoyed working on this garden a couple of weeks ago. The family had already embarked on a smart restoration of their house and needed a garden to match. These 40-50square metre garden makeovers are perfect for me being mostly on my own but always happy to look at bigger and smaller projects and regular garden upkeep - I’m happy mowing a lawn or doing some weeding 😁

Although it’s been a challenging year so far with the Covid crisis, one of the most rewarding aspects for me has been growing a whole load of veg and flowers from seed. I’ve had the time to nurture them this year more than ever. Lots yet still to bloom but that’s what’s exciting about it. It’s a lot cheaper than buying flowers from a garden centre! Although I’m now fighting off black fly, arghh.

Here’s one I did earlier! Large sloping garden with an old lawn that had seen better days and same to be said for the border. Some of the landscaping at bottom and top of garden had already been done so my brief was to sort out the middle bit which involved clearing and laying new turf and creating a border for veg and flowers - it’s big enough! The home owner wanted something subtle to edge the border on to path so I used fence posts laid on their side following the existing path.

I went back to have a look at this garden today that my brother and I made over just after the lockdown ease. The garden had quite a few challenges - firstly totally overgrown and a ‘lawn’ that had been neglected for years by the previous owner. Even though the garden has a natural slope it was very high at one end so we did our best to bring that down so it was more useable! We also laid the lawn during an unusually dry spring so it was a challenge to keep that alive but it was looking great today!

Lots of ongoing jobs at the moment, mostly small stuff having just finished a major garden transformation! Been playing in my own garden today, moving some more mature seedlings into the borders and as always a garden centre trip to buy stuff for my customers always results in a few treats for myself even though I’m running out of room! So pleased with this lovely lilium martagon!

With the slight easing of lockdown rules this week it’s been nice to get back to some gardening/landscaping.

Goes without saying during this pandemic that all rules on social distancing are observed and we avoid entering people’s homes, just the outside space, until further restrictions are lifted.

This is a garden we’ve tamed this week. Ok so the garden would probably be loved ‘before’ by nature lovers but not practical for a dad, his kids and the dog! This week we’re adding a deck and finishing up around tree with some nice aggregates - will update you with a final pic later in week.

We’re now adding fence installation and patio cleaning to the repertoire including the usual general gardening duties; grass cutting / hedge trimming etc. Drop us a line for a quote 😁

Hope everyone is safe and well and enduring this horrible lockdown. At least we’ve had some nice weather to enjoy our gardens if we’re lucky enough to have one. Shortly before all the shops closed I’d ordered some patio stones and materials to build a patio for my girlfriend but deliberately got a bit extra to finally finish my pond in my garden. I dug this years ago before I knew what i wanted to do with it but this feels far more finished now. At least it’s kept me busy for a few days. Looking forward to getting back out to do some more gardening soon 🤞🤞

This is my favourite time of the year when I'm just starting to get back out and do some gardening. Even though I can work in isolation I've decided to hold off while we're limiting travel to essential only. In the meantime my garden is starting to wake up!
