New Garden Design business, opened February 2017. Consultation, Survey and Design

My name is Dan, I have been designing, creating and drawing all my life. I did it all through school, college and University. Even before all that I was drawing, doodling and losing myself in a painting since I was very young. The gardening bit has come around fairly recently, within 3 years - but I have always enjo

yed being outdoors and 'mucking about' in the garden, getting soil covered hands and hacking down brambles, when my friends at school had paper rounds or worked in the chippy I was mowing lawns and pulling up weeds. Until last year I was a restauranteur, a committed hospitality man, loving the long hours and hard work, the food, wine and guest feedback. IT was a slog though and I wasn't getting the reward, the praise the balance to life. In September 2016 I had a change of heart, I put an end to a 15 year career in restaurants, bars, hotels and more for a Garden Design course from the Garden Design School. A Diploma in Garden Design followed for the next 9 months, with 30 hours homework a week, working full time along side to pay for it, it was hard but the single most enjoyable thing I have ever undertaken. Since starting that course I haven't looked back, I have reignited my old designer instincts and worked as an eager gardener and landscaper, at the very bottom mowing lawns again to re-designing whole gardens and I have loved every moment. Now qualified as a Garden Designer I draw, design and create spatial designs of every garden type and need. From courtyard, front driveways to family, country gardens and estates.
