Taking some time here with trees, after all it is their week.
In conversation not only with the trees but an employee of the steam railway that I bumped into here to make sure that no one makes off with a Unicorn!
…refreshing to hear that he was totally getting the connections between habitats for wildlife within the landscape and woodland areas he spoke from his own experiences of living and growing up in Germany and how noticeably residents there care for their environment and wildlife by providing areas for habitats as the norm. Had to add to that in my own experience of living in Germany (early 90s) how I noticed that they were light years ahead with recycling and care for the environment and planet, where as here we are still fumbling or being charged for disfunctional recycling systems.
He added that no one in Germany ever vandalised or stole street sculpture or habitats and often bagged up bottles would be left next to the litter bins so that the homeless didn’t have to rummage through debris to find glass to return in exchange for money.
Better days.

Crows are circling high above
Beneath them fields of turned rich dark earth.
Their silhouettes punctuate the dusk
Like intricate patterns on lace.

How can I paint with words these scenes of the everyday that I witness when innocent people are being displaced killed tortured and having to flee leaving their loved ones beneath piles of rubble?

I struggle with the idea of humanity if this is where we are at.
Now.

Those words, I lead a simple life.
Just to be.
Tuned in and laying down as nature’s cyclical rhythm slows.
I am grateful for what I can see.

Unsettled morning
This one’s for Roman his family and friends.
I smile at the memory, being terrified riding passenger on your motorcycle from the OST see to the city one summer’s evening. I remember the exhilaration of clinging on for dear life and all the things that my Mother had firmly said not to do with motorcycles.
And all the time you laughed.
When someone’s aura and soul is a good one in them you can trust.
Ride on old friend.
Rest in peace friend brother son x

I found evidence of box moth caterpillar on four of the eight larger box specimens on site whilst going over them by hand. I purposely left it this late to gently prune after last years hard pruning. Treatments seem to have worked in that there’s less presence and foliage damage, so we will continue to spray organically.
