Something we see all too often….
Almost anyone can lay tiles to a set gauge on battens and even in this case they’ve got that wrong too, but many cannot complete the finish work to an acceptable standard.
This roof is one of the worst I’ve come across and is only 3 years old, it may look ok to
The naked eye but when you take a closer look their are multiple issues that require addressing immediately, luckily we have caught it just in time before any major issues are caused internally.
Issues -
The GRP abutment gutter has not only been installed with zero care or attention in terms of keeping it straight along the party wall but is also installed underneath the battens and short of the lower end of the roof meaning water is only going to 1 place, inside ( how thick can you be )?
The neighbouring property has been slated back in (and i use that term lightly) with artificial slate as opposed to the natural existing slates which are already installed ( sheer laziness and an attempt to save on costs )
The lead work to the entire parapet wall is abysmal, sunken in places and doesnt meet any threshold of what should be installed, the highest point of lead flashing stops inline with the badly installed ridge system.
The dry ridge kit which im certain i could train my dog to install is an absolute mess, screws missing, the kit itself doesn’t meet the threshold of the top course of tile because that has been installed too low to the rear side of the main roof.
The kicker? All of this installed by a large LTD company who still trade to this day, my thoughts and prayers go out to any and all customers that have or will have dealings with this company.
As always we will rectify all of the above issues to our usual high standards and will post the photos and progress to show you all how it should be done.
We may not have 10 employees, boast a huge following on socials, have all the bells and whistles in terms of accreditations which quite frankly are not worth the paper they are written on, but we do a far better job than most with all of the above.
