As the dust (snow?) settles a bit and the exhaustion recedes, I’m starting to look back on an extraordinary six months. This little start-up launched on the 5th June but over the past four weeks we made and sent out over 200 orders including about 160 handmade wreaths, vintage containers and potted plants. We even managed to fit in a courtyard pot revamp and a couple of markets! One of our wreaths became an Etsy bestseller which led to us closing the shop twice in two weeks to try and stay on top of things and remain on schedule. It felt like the world around us had literally submerged online and that the entire country was getting behind small, independent businesses like ours. It was online baptism by fire and the most unbelievable experience, one I will never forget.

The business is a simple one - basically pairing my love of perennials and old pots together (like this Cyclamen and vintage 6” terracotta pot) and keeping the English garden tradition of potted plants flourishing. We do have other strings to our bows like our meadow window boxes and seasonal wreaths, but the business is essentially a very simple one which I hope to grow with all kinds of imaginative ideas and collaborations in the coming months.

Going forward, despite everything, I feel optimistic for the new year. I’m incredibly fortunate to be doing something that I love so it never feels like work and the response has been so encouraging.

None of this would have happened without the support I’ve received from here and from . It’s been one helleva roller coaster of a year, but it did bring me this opportunity, for which I am so grateful. Thank you x
