Following on from my previous post!!
Jobs nearly finished, just waiting for the plumbers to sort stuff so I can put last socket on wall (radiator is currently in the way).
Once thats done I can certify and notify building control etc.
Other stuff I found was
Cable running alongside VERY hot pipes and scorched.
Socket on wall but no back box.
Light that had been so hot it scorched and dried out plaster to dust.
Burnt out wiring from an old electrical fire.
Lots of loose connections in sockets and lighting

Everything is now safe!!!

After doing an EICR (electrical inspection condition report) for a client, they decided to ask me to completely re-wire there 1950โ€™s โ€œishโ€ 3 bed semi.
I love doing these jobs.
All of the lighting was original with no CPC (earth wire) and disintegrating cableโ€™s ๐Ÿ˜ณ. Most of the back boxes are wooden or the old heavy metal. Lots of alterations to the wiring is making me smile every day and keeping me on my toes as I have to keep some stuff powered up for a bit.
The old wooden trunking is lovely and has a touch of class alongside some of the switches and sockets.

Looking forward to the next few days to see what other little jems I find.
