Another job wrapped up today ✔️

We’ve just completed this bedroom transformation, giving it a fresh new look with a modern finish. Decorated ✅ with light grey acoustic panels were installed across one and a half walls, modernising the room and creating a stylish feature wall that really stands out.

To complete the look, we replaced all sockets and switches with sleek matt black fittings—tying everything together for a clean, contemporary feel.

A simple upgrade that makes a big difference!

Another project completed ✔️

We’ve just finished this bespoke lean-to, built using solid 150x150 posts and 6x2 C24 treated timber for a strong, long-lasting structure. The roof is finished with clear PVCu corrugated sheets, allowing plenty of natural light while keeping the space sheltered all year round.

We also extended the patio—creating a clean, open space that’s perfect for relaxing or entertaining during the summer months ☀️

Another project completed last week 💪

We carried out a lift and relay of a patio at Red Gables, Stowmarket, improving accessibility and making the area safe for residents.

The existing patio had unfortunately sunk in several areas, creating trip hazards. After lifting the slabs, we discovered a 130mm sand bed 🤦🏼‍♂️ which had contributed to the movement over time.

Our solution:
✅Removed the unsuitable sand base.
✅Installed a new solid sub-base for long-term stability.
✅Added ACO drainage around the building perimeter.
✅Relayed the paving on a full sand and cement bed.
✅Re-jointed using sand and cement for a durable finish.

The result is a much safer, level, and accessible patio that will stand the test of time 👌

We’ve just finished a large 5.5m media wall project in EYE and the results speak for themselves 👇

✨ Featuring a real log burner
✨ Solid oak mantle
✨ Two colour-changing spotlights in each alcove – highlighting the brickwork beautifully
✨ Two bespoke log store alcoves
✨ Built fully in line with building regulations

To complete the space, we also:
💡 Installed 8 new spotlights in the living room
🛠️ Plastered over the old artex ceiling – giving the room a fresh, modern, and stylish finish

A full upgrade that’s turned this living space into a real feature of the home!

⚒️ Another great project completed by SWS DESIGN & BUILD in Bury St Edmunds ⚒️

We recently designed, built and installed a range of bespoke MDF cabinetry, all manufactured off-site and installed in just two days to minimise disruption for the homeowner.

This project included:• A large built-in bedroom wardrobe featuring two double wardrobes, a single wardrobe, a 3-drawer unit and overhead storage cupboards.• A basement storage unit, transforming previously unused space into practical and accessible storage.• A built-in attic storage unit, making the most of every inch of available space.

By building everything in our workshop and installing on site, we were able to complete the full installation efficiently while keeping time in the property to a minimum.

🪏 FOOTING’S AND OVERSIGHT 🪏

Another project completed a little while ago in Bury St Edmund’s that we’re proud to share.

We carried out the concrete footings, full oversite build-up, and drainage installation for this extension — all completed in line with Building Control requirements.

Access on this job was extremely poor, meaning all works had to be completed by hand — but that didn’t stop us delivering everything to the correct standard and the proper way 👍

For the drainage, we tee’d into the existing brick manhole and installed a new clay slipper, ensuring a reliable and compliant connection for the extension.

Another quality job delivered by SWS Design & Build — attention to detail from the ground up.

The design features a lovely panoramic electric fire, acoustic panels, alcove shelving with colour changeable LED downlights, and a sound bar!

We stepped the alcoves in on this design to create a nice detail 😍 we cannot wait for this to be painted.

🎄 That’s a wrap for Christmas! 🎄

The SWS Design & Build team are now breaking up for Christmas, and we just want to say a huge thank you to all our old and new customers — it’s truly been a pleasure working for you all this year.

We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year 🎅🎉

Although we’re taking a short break, we’ll still be working between Christmas and New Year on a special project that’s going to be MEGA 👀🔥

We’ve also got big plans and big changes coming to SWS Design & Build as we head into the New Year, so keep your eyes peeled — exciting times ahead!
