Good morning guys. It's wet and miserable outside so now is the best time to clear out my under cover spaces!!

Unfortunately I will have to say goodbye to these lovely tomato plants. I haven't watered them since September, yet they have carried on producing, well into November! Now that's the power of plants 👊

It worked!! Here is a Dahlia I grew from seed last year. When they died back in the autumn I dug up two of my dahlias, potted them and over-wintered both in my greenhouse. Now new shoots are appearing! Don't you just love the POWER of plants!?

Another method is to leave your dahlias in the ground and cover them with earth (to protect from frost). I did that with 4 of my Dahlias but I haven't yet seen any growth, but there's still plenty of time so let's wait and see 😉

New bird netting for the Polytunnel opening. This enables the tunnel to stay cool whilst keeping out unwanted creatures- birds, muntjac and cats included!

I also placed a piece of wood along the bottom opening to stop grass and weeds growing. Hopefully it works...although I'm wondering if I should've used an even wider piece of wood!!

It's starting to feel like a Veg patch again!

Part of the power of is that you don't spend hours digging and turning the soil! You do need to buy compost and move it around but it's so much quicker and easier! All I've done is cut and mow down the weeds,cover with cardboard and add some compost. Then in a few weeks I'll make a hole through the compost and card and plant my seedlings. Simples ☺️

It was a big day for me today- I was given the opportunity to talk about how we farm organically and how we use the No-dig method.

I must admit I was quite nervous as I'm not a confident public speaker!

However, I worked hard on my presentation and I think I produced something of worth to those listening to my talk.

I hope this gives me confidence moving forward and that we can all share the good news about farming
