Hope you don't mind a bit of a long/ personal post🤞
This past weekend we spent 2 days as part of the Suffolk Plant Heritage spring plant fair at Helmingham Hall Gardens
For 15 years (possibly more I can't remember haha), this has been by far our favourite fair for a number of reasons.
Firstly for the setting - the hall and gardens are stunning.
Secondly for the atmosphere - somehow this is always a happy fair, even when the weather isn't so happy. The brass band on the lawn, the music in the courtyard, the bunting, all contribute
And finally and most importantly, our friends and fellow nursery owners!
Whilst we have some brilliant male friends/nursery owners, I wanted to introduce you to an amazing & incredibly knowledgeable group of women I'm proud to call my friends (please excuse the state of us all but this was at the end of 2 days in last weekends extreme heat)
From left to right they are: Sarah - Cottage Memories, Mel - Mickfield Hostas, Jane - Tynings Climbers, Xa Tollmarche - plantaholic, garden designer & RHS judge, Toni - Tynings Climbers, Gill - Wootens of Wenhaston, Me!, Sarah Cook - former head gardener of Sissinghurst, holder of the Cedric Morris Iris collection, Imogen & Sally - Riverside Bulbs, Liz - Mandy's Plants, Helen - Helen's Herbaceous, and last but by no means last, Jen - Wootens of Wenhaston
I'm going to miss our chats on the moat wall!
