💜 Purple Potatoes
A surprisingly good harvest of my purple potatoes. The variety is Vitanoire and they have a dark purple skin and insides. They are currently curing in my shed and I’m thinking purple gnocchi will be the first recipe I will use them in ✨. I have put some more in the ground to see if I can get another crop before the end of the season.

Plot progress ✨

I have lost a bit of motivation this year with the weather being so rubbish and there being so many obstacles in the way with an influx of pests and disease wiping out 99% of everything I am growing. I haven’t w**ded for two weeks and come back to this jungle that I am slowly tackling. Happy to have my first harvest though 😂🥕

💜Just a reminder that it’s the time of year to be harvesting your lavender ✨. This lavender is being hung upside down until it is try. The flower heads harvested into an air tight container and then used to make things throughout the year like oils, pillows, soaps etc.

Today I am off to set up a new vegetable garden for up at on this glorious sunny day ☀️. I’ll be taking with be some shallots, beetroot, chard, cabbage, basil, calendula and nasturtiums for pollinators and ground cover and a whole lot of crazy shape and sized tomato’s. I am so excited to see how they turn out! I am also going to be trialling a few different variety of melon, as anyone should when they get to try out a polytunnel for the first time ✨

🍄‍🟫 King Oyster Mushrooms. Not bad going for my first try. I very much winged it so next time will actually be reading up on how to grow them 😅

🌷 Lovely allotment haul the other day. Lilacs for syrup, Rhubarb for crumbles and the Tulips for a vase ☀️

🥗 Most of my vegetable seeds for the summer are officially in the soil now! I have a lot of new varieties to try and now have no choice but to get down the allotment and clear some space for them all!
